Nokia Lumia 610 NFC: The world's first Windows Phone with NFC



Nokia has officially announced the NFC version of the Lumia 610 called Lumia 610 NFC, making it the 8th NFC smartphone Nokia has introduced in the past two years and the world’s first Windows Phone with NFC hardware. The Lumia 610 NFC is also identical to the non-NFC version of the Lumia 610 in terms of software and hardware, except for the NFC chip.

The Nokia Lumia 610 NFC comes with a single-core 800MHz processor, 3.7-inch WVGA (480×800) Gorilla Glass display, Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, 256MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage, HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, NFC Technology, GPS w/ aGPS support, FM radio, 5 megapixel camera with 720p video and 1300mAh battery.

The phone will be available in Europe under Orange Telco with no details regarding the pricing or the availability in other markets.

Note: NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It’s a way of allowing two devices of any kind to talk to each other using radio communication, by simply touching them together or holding them in close proximity.
