Smart Money launches double-your-remittance promo, gives free int’l SMS

Getting money from loved ones abroad through Smart Money, the country’s first and largest electronic wallet service, is now doubly rewarding.

Recipients of international remittances sent via Smart Money from now until August 15 will get P150 worth of international texts plus a chance to win a cash prize equal to twice the amount sent by their relatives or friends abroad.

Each remittance ranging from P4,000 to P10,000 will earn the recipient one raffle entry in Smart Money’s Doble Todo Panalo promo. Three Smart Money users will win in each of the three monthly draws to be held on June 29 (covering the remittance period May 15-June 15), July 31 (covering June 16-July 15), and August 30 (covering July 16-August 15).

This means that if a Smart Money user receives P10,000 from a relative abroad on May 30, he or she can win P20,000 in the June 29 draw.

All raffle entries accumulated from May 15 to August 15 will be included in the grand draw on August 30 where one lucky Smart Money user will win P45,000.

“Smart Money users may encourage their loved ones overseas to send remittances more frequently to increase their chances of winning,” said Tricia Dizon, head of Smart’s financial services.

Smart Money account holders can receive remittances from more than 95,000 partner-agents all over the world, including Western Union and MoneyGram.

“Whether or not they win in the raffle, Smart Money remittance beneficiaries who have a personalized Smart Money card linked to a prepaid Smart or Talk ‘N Text number will get P150 worth of international text credits for each transaction, regardless of the remittance amount. These credits are valid for two days,” Dizon said.

“Not only can Smart Money users and their loved ones abroad enjoy an easy, fast, and secure way of transferring money, they can also communicate with each other more because of this promo,” she said.

Aside from providing international remittance services, Smart Money also allows account holders to do cashless shopping in more than 32 million MasterCard merchants worldwide, pay bills using their mobile phone, transfer money electronically to other Smart Money users, reload their Smart prepaid account, and withdraw cash from over 10,000 BDO, BancNet, Megalink, and ExpressNet automated teller machines nationwide and from Cirrus ATMs abroad.
