HTC One S available in the Philippines has the 1.7GHz S3 processor, NOT the 1.5GHz S4!

HTC One S on Qualcomm 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3

It's now official! HTC Philippines just announced on their Facebook page that the HTC One S available in the Philippines and with the rest of the ASEAN region has the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1.7GHz processor, not a Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz as stated in the official press release issued last June 28 and 29, 2012. How to know if the HTC One S comes with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 or 1.7GHz S3?
HTC One S on Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 - This is the original version which was announced at the MWC 2012 and comes with a matte black color (see image below). Its shell underwent a process called microarc oxidation (MAO) which makes it harder than anodized aluminum.

Note:
- There are reports that miniature chippings occur as you use the phone despite not banging or dropping it.
- This version won’t be available here in our country according to HTC Philippines.

HTC One S on Qualcomm 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 - This version released in the ASEAN region and in the Philippines has the gray/blue gradient shell. The unibody shell uses an anodized aluminum without the microarc oxidation (MAO) process. Its processor the 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 is the same processor used at the HTC Sensation, Sensation XE, Sony Xperia S and Huawei MediaPad.
