264 Ilonggos hired during Iloilo City 75th Charter Day job fair last August 25!

264 of the 996 registered job applicants were hired on the spot by the city government’s partner companies during the Iloilo City 75th Charter Day Diamond Jubilee Job Fair at Gaisano City last August 25. In a report to Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog today, August 29, Public Employment Services Office (PESO) head Maria Elena H. Benitez said of the 264 hired on the spot, 105 of these were for overseas employment while 159 were hired by local companies.

Benitez also reported the job fair partnered by the city with RMN (Radio Mo Nationwide) on the occasion of the network’s 60th anniversary produced a total of 133 qualified applicants out of the 200 that registered. The 133 qualified applicants now have brighter prospects to land jobs with the hiring companies once they fulfill certain requirements.

Mayor Jed said the regular job fairs conducted by the city government through the PESO are part of his pro-poor programs to ensure metro Ilonggos do not only get employed but also acquire dynamic opportunities for socio-economic upliftment.
