Diablo III Starter Edition now available to download for FREE!!
The demonically-besieged world of Sanctuary needs heroes. Now you can join in the apocalyptic battle for FREE via the all-new Diablo III Starter Edition. Available exclusively via Battle.net, the Starter Edition allows you to fight your way up to the Skeleton King boss in Act I and advance all the way to level 13, without having to purchase a copy of Diablo III. You can get the FREE Starter Edition in any of the following ways after the jump.
There are now three ways to get the Diablo III Starter Edition. Choose the option that is best for you!
Option 1: Log in to your existing Battle.net account at http://www.battle.net, and sign up for the Diablo III Starter Edition through the "Your Game Accounts" section.
- Log in to Battle.net using your email address and password.
- On the Account Summary page, you’ll see Diablo III Starter Edition. Click the Play for Free link.
- Enter the BattleTag of your choice, then click Create your BattleTag. If you have additional questions, review the BattleTag FAQ. If you already have a BattleTag, you will skip this step.
- Click Get Starter Edition.
- On the Diablo III License page, click Download Game Client.
- Verify your age.
- Select Windows or Mac (The Mac version is only available in English, French, and German).
- Once the game is fully installed, you may log in with your Battle.net email and password to access the Starter Edition!
Option 2: Create a new Battle.net account here, and the Diablo III Starter Edition license will be added to your account automatically.
- Visit the Activation Page.
- On this page, you will be asked “Do you have a Battle.net account?”. Click No – Create a New Account.
- Proceed with Battle.net Account creation.
- A verification email will be sent to the email address you chose. Check your email in order to verify the Battle.net Account.
- When you receive the email, click the appropriate link to verify your account. You’ll be taken to a page that states E-Mail Address Verified.
- Click Continue Setting Up Diablo III.
- Enter the BattleTag of your choice, then click Create your BattleTag. If you have additional questions, review the BattleTag FAQ.
- Click Get Starter Edition.
- On the Diablo III License page, click Download Game Client.
- Verify your age.
- Select Windows or Mac (The Mac version is only available in English, French, and German).
- Once the game is fully installed, you may log in with your Battle.net email and password to access the Starter Edition!
Option 3: Grab the Diablo III game disc from a friend, install the game, and then log in with your Battle.net account. The Diablo III Starter Edition will be added to your account automatically.
Note:
- Diablo III Starter Edition provides players the ability to try out a limited version of Diablo III, while the Guest Pass keys allow a player to give friends the opportunity to play the Starter Edition of Diablo III.
- Each Battle.net account is limited to one Diablo III Starter Edition or one Diablo III Standard Edition.
- Players on Starter Edition game licenses have the following restrictions:
- Act I up to the Skeleton King is available
- Level 13 cap
- Matchmaking available only with other Starter Edition players
- No Auction House access (Real Money or Gold)
- Global Play is now available for the Diablo III Starter Edition
