New Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich software update for 2011 Xperia smartphones is now available!
After the ICS rollout for Sony Xperia P last week, Sony just announced that starting this week - Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V, Xperia mini, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Xperia ray will receive a new Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich software update that comes with bug fixes, performance tweaks and other improvements. If you’ve already upgraded to ICS, you’ll receive a notification in your phone and be able to download it over-the-air. For those guys on Gingerbread, you’ll need to plug in and upgrade using PC companion or Bridge for Mac. More details after the jump.
What's new in 2011 Xperia smartphones using Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich):
- Quick dial allows you to quickly find the number you are looking for
- Recent Apps button for clear overview of your applications
- Quick responses for incoming calls
- Optimized email application for multiple accounts
- Improved control of your mobile data consumption
Note:
- According to Sony, the Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo L and Live with Walkman are next up, and will start to receive their serving over the next few weeks.
- All 2011 Xperia smartphones users will get a notification when the upgrade is ready,
but direct availability in the phone may vary across different markets
and carriers. If
not, you can check manually to see if the update is available for
download.
