Sarah Geronimo voted as Filipino kids' favorite singer in Cartoon Network's New Generations Survey 2012!
After two sold-out concerts at the Araneta Coliseum marking her 24th birthday this month, popstar princess Sarah Geronimo has another reason to thank her legion of fans. Sarah was named most favorite singer by Filipino kids in Cartoon Network's New Generations Survey 2012, besting local and international artists such as X-Factor Philippines mentor and judge Charice Pempengco, Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber, Hollywood singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, and ‘Just The Way You Are' crooner Bruno Mars.
"It's already such a huge honor to be nominated alongside great singers and even more humbling to receive the recognition," said Sarah upon accepting her award from Cartoon Network. "To all the Pinoy kids who voted for me, thank you for the inspiration you give me," said the singer in a special message for her young fans.
Looking at preferences, lifestyles, and interests of Filipino kids, the New Generation Survey was based on face-to-face, in-home interviews with 1,000 randomly selected Filipino children aged 7-14 from Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao. It was conducted from February 25 to March 26, 2012 and covered socioeconomic classes A, B, C and D. New Generations 2012 marks the fifth Cartoon Network New Generations survey focused on the Philippines, with prior studies conducted in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009.
Aside from being one of the country's top performers, Sarah has numerous achievements under her belt, which includes box-office movies, a successful weekly TV musical show, concerts here and abroad, and a string of endorsements from top brands.
