DTI provides assistance to P2 billion development project in Sicogon island!
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is providing assistance for the realization of the P2 billion development project in Sicogon, Island in Carles town. DTI Iloilo Manager Wilhelm Malones said DTI is helping Sicogon Development Corporation to comply with the requirements so it could avail of incentives being given by the Iloilo Investment Promotion Board. “Since the development project is tourism oriented we also help the developer meet the standards of facilities for accreditation of the Department of Tourism,” Malones said.
Sicogon Development Corporation intends to put up high end resort in the island.
"And once this project pushes through, it could generate employment and become a new attraction for Panay next to Boracay island," she said.
Both Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. and Carles Mayor Arnold Betita are looking forward to the development project for it could really boost Sicogon's tourism industry.
