Update: The MediaTek MT6577 is faster than the Qualcomm MSM8625 S4. The MT6577 is a dual-core Cortex A9 while the MSM8625 S4 is a dual-core Cortex A5. The A5 is more efficient, but peak performance the A9 beats it handily. However, it the speed difference is pretty negligible for general usage. It'll only be apparent in benchmarks and games. Thanks AnaIvanovic2!

ReplyDeleteActually, the MediaTek MTK6577 is faster than the MSM8225 S4. The comparison table got that wrong. The MTK6577 is a dual-core Cortex A9 while the MSM8225 S4 is a dual-core Cortex A5. The A5 is more efficient, but peak performance the A9 beats it handily. However, it the speed difference is pretty negligible for general usage. It'll only be apparent in benchmarks and games.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip :)
ReplyDeleteAn IPS (in-plane switching) LCD is a type of thin display that offers better viewing angles, fast response speed and a simple pixel structure than regular TFT-LCDs (Found in CM's W500 Titan). IPS-LCDs feature two transistors for each pixel, where TFT-LCDs use just one. This requires a more powerful backlight, which delivers more accurate colors, and allows the screen to be viewed from a wider angle. The downside is that an IPS-LCD may consume more power than a TFT-LCD.
ReplyDeleteIPS-LCDs typically are found on high-end smartphones and tablets (Apple's iPhone, iPad, LG Optimus G, Asus Transformer Pads). IPS-LCDs is also found on some budget-friendly smartphone (CM W100, Candy TV, MyPhone A878/A898 Duo and Starmobile Astra).
what is the difference between capacitive LCD and IPS capacitive?
