HP Business Inkjet Printer Offers Greater Flexibility With Latest Wireless Direct Technology

HP announced the availability of the latest wireless direct printing technology for small and medium business (SMB) users of the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One series. HP wireless direct printing, available via a firmware update, allows SMB users to print from any Wi-Fi-enabled mobile device, such as smartphones, tablets and laptop computers without the need for network or internet connections.

“We are focused on helping SMBs stand out while increasing productivity with HP’s award-winning business inkjet portfolio,” said Albert Mateo, HP Printing and Personal Systems Country Manager. “HP’s latest wireless direct printing technology will offer greater flexibility to SMB users of the Officejet Pro 8600 in addition to high-quality color prints at lower cost than laser printers.”

Users can simply walk up and connect to the printer from any Wi-Fi-enabled mobile device with a peer-to-peer connection to print out their documents – including emails, contracts, photos and marketing materials.

Outstanding color and energy-efficiency
In delivering outstanding print quality and reliability for SMBs at lower costs, the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One has been recognized as an outstanding product by Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI).

In the 2012 Winter Pick awards from BLI, Officejet Pro 8600 was named Outstanding Colour Inkjet   All-in-One printer.

Contributing to this recognition are the HP Officejet Pro pigment inks, which allow this business-friendly printer to deliver laser-like professional print quality with water-, fade- and highlighter pen-resistance.

Providing quality printing with superior energy efficiency, the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One also received the “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency” award from BLI (Winter 2012).

The award was earned for the printer’s automatic two-sided printing and Auto-On/Auto-Off feature which reduces energy use and contributed to the printer’s significantly lower than average overall energy consumption. These results support the findings of HP’s internal testing, which shows that the HP Officejet Pro 8600 printers use up to 50% less energy than most industry-leading color lasers.

To download the new firmware upgrade and enjoy the wireless printing flexibility, customers can access the Setup menu via their printer’s touchscreen, navigating to Wireless Direct settings via the Wireless Menu within the Network Setup.
