MyPhone A848 Duo

MyPhone recently announced the availability of their newest smartphone called the MyPhone A848 Duo! For only Php4,590 (promo price), the MyPhone A848 Duo boasts a 4.0-inch IPS capacitive display, a dual-SIM, dual-standby capability, an 5MP camera with LED flash, a VGA front camera, 1GHz single-core MediaTek processor, 1,600mAh battery and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its OS. What is the difference between the MyPhone A848 Duo and the MyPhone A848i Duo?
Both phones have the same specs and looks (actually you cannot distinguish which phone is the A848 or A848i), but the MyPhone A848i Duo comes with 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and 3G connectivity support. While the MyPhone A848 Duo doesn't have 3G connectivity and comes with 1GHz single-core MT6575 processor.

    Hello guys,

    Pa help naman with my problem. Kasi hindi ko ma enable yung GPRS sa phone ko. I have Globe and Smart SIM na try ko na pareho pero lagi "Connection Failed" yung nakikita ko sa browser ko. Sa globe sinubukan ko yung mag seset ka ng phone model then send. Tapos sinasabi "Invalid keyword". Nauubos n load ko hindi ko pa mapagana ung GPRS. Nag try na din ako mag set manually.

    Same po yan sa computer, mas mabilis po ung dual-core dahil dalawa po yung processor nito compare sa single-core.

    I owned this myphone model less than a month now, everything's working fine. You get more for a very affordable price on the other hand since its single core and we have the lowest dsl plan and I bought a wifi modem, it tends to hang every single time I try to watch videos, and I end up power cycling the phone for at least 3-4 times and just stop watching the video at all because of frustration, I remove all the unnecessary files stored in my sd card thinking that it may help the slow pace of my phone but it doesnt help it at all.

    MyPhone po, but depende pa rin yan sa user.

    Meron nmn po Flare na kahit ilang beses na nabagsak sa lupa, ok parin yung phone at ganyan din sa ibang A848.

    I just bought a848 duo last two weeks,tapos sira agad yong saksakan ng charger,tapos ngaun naman nawala ung connection sa youtube,pag nag status din sa facebook connection had been stop eh malakas nma signal ng wifi.wala pang 1 month dami na agad damage.ano gagawin q!pls help me.

    You can send it to Sony service center just bring necessary document like warranty card. it is their official service carrier. Baka may magawa pa sila and its in warranty pa naman.:)

    Walang pinagiba yung performance, Ok din yung rooting kng gusto mg tinker sa settings nito. Tulad sa computer meron kang administrator access.

    MyPhone A848 po dahil Android 4.0 ICS na po ito, 4GB yung internal storage, 512MB yung RAM, 4-inch WVGA display at 5MP yung camera.

    Gagawa ko ng specs comparison at mkikita mu dyan yung pagkaiba ng dalawa.

    bakit ung aken. kahapon ko lang binili. may memory card naman ng 8gb pero sa tuwing nagdDL ako ng apps namamatay buhay sya ng sarili nya. lagi p syang log. may antivirus naman ako wala nmng virus. nakakadisappoint din

    It does not support 3G, but that doesn't mean na hindi ka pwede mag-internet sa phone mo using your sim card. Just pull down the notification bar then select "Data Connection", after that, a pop up will be displayed and all you have to do is select the sim card that you want to use to be able to connect to the internet. Hindi nga lang sya mabilis, but still, you're able to post pictures on instagram or update your facebook and twitter account.

    nablock po yung cellphone ko.dhil sa masyadong maraming attemp sa password ng kapatid ko. at ngayon po hinihingi yung google account ko. pero khit ilagay ko pa yung google account ko ang nalabas po is invalid yung email or password pero pag binubuksan ko po sa laptop ok nman po.. panu po ggawin ??

    kung ano ang nangyari sayo ay nangyari den sa akin.. what i did is i format it since i dont have any choice. all my downloaded applications were gone. now, i cant download any application from play store and i don't know why...

    tuwing mag iinstal po ako ng games at ng apps, dalawa lang po ang default storage, ang internal at ang phone storage, meron ga pong paraan para gawing default instalation point ang aking sd card imbes sa phone storage? kasi di po kasya mga hd games eh, thanks

    You need to root your phone...

    all android powered devices doesn't install files on SD card because google(android) said that SD card cannot run games smoothly and perfectly when the games is in the SD card... specially hd games

    Advantage of rooting:: install apps to SD.. long battery life.. speed up the unit... making back up.... bug free...... install new rom.... new appearance, memory swap (your internal can change to external (vice versa) ... and you can gain full control of the unit.. that's why it is called "ROOT"

    Disadvantage of rooting: Your phone/device might get bricked... or useless.... (like carrying a brick in your pocket) and instead of speeding up the unit, it can also slowing the unit and getting hang

    and your phone/device warranty will be lost

    (root at your own risk) ^_^ (take it to the experts)

    rooting is for android powered devices

    jailbreak is for the ios

    quick question, sa A848 duo, if nag unli surf ka sa globe, would you still be able to access the net on your phone? or that typically eliminates the purpose since A848 duo doesnt support 3G?

    Meron hotspot, bagal lng po dahil nd po ito 3G.

    Photo below: Sa A848i po makikita yun sa signal indicator (SIM 1) meron na dyan nkalagay "H" o "HSDPA". Sakin po A848i nlng po kayo, dahil sa dual-core processor, 5-point multi-touch at meron 3G connectivity.

    pa help. how can i open my phone, MP A848? kasi naman naground sya habang nagchacharge and then naraming patterns na, tapos nakalagay sign in muna sa google account para mabuksan, tapos nung nagsign in ako, ayaw pa rin mabuksan nung phone.. :/ please po help me, i have no phone to use.

    dapat d2 sa mga codes.. naka connect ka sa wifi... ung nakasave na wifi sa phone dun cya mag coconnect.. dpat nadedetect ng phone mu ung wifi...

    Off mo po ung Wifi/Bluetooth, uninstall mo po ung antivirus at ibng pang apps na sa background. Maliit lng kasi ung battery capacity (1,600mAh) ng A848
