KATA T2

Owtel Shop PH recently launched its latest tablet called the KATA T2, an 8-inch Android Jelly Bean tablet from KATA Mobile. The KATA T2 boasts a 1.6GHz dual-core Rockchip processor with quad-core Mali-400 graphics, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, 5MP autofocus camera, 2MP front camera, 4,100mAh battery and runs Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean as its OS. Best of all, it is now available at all PH Owtel Shop and KATA retail branches for a SRP of just Php7,999 only! More about the KATA T2 specs and features after the jump.

    sabi dun sa shop 1 year warranty and 1 year replacement...ha!.....nagulat ako 1 year replacement? hindi ako makapaniwala pero totoo, pinakita nya sa akin

    Hi Sonny, there are games that will save itself on the phone storage (even if the default is set on SD, unless you will root the device) and the downside (according to Arjay) there is only 2.2GB of available storage for your apps and games.

    Candy Crush and Temple Run can be downloaded and will run without lag on this device.

    I GUES DIS 1 IS BETTER DAN CM FUSION TABLET NA NILABAS NILA RECENTLY. IL USE IT FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE ANYWAY. I USUALI CAPTURE OUR CLAS NOTES USING LG 8MP AND TRANSFER IT VIA BLUTUT TO MY BRO'S S3 BUT I GUES ITS TYM TO HAVE MY OWN NG DNKMI NAG AANTAYAN.

    ill go for Performance... ive heard that CM fusion Bolt Tablet is based n Ainol Novo 7 venus..... and although it has Quadcore CPU.... it seems that it runs like a Dualcore processor... yung Brand daw po ng CPU na ginamit ay hindi kilala...mabilis din daw magDRAIN yung battery dahil quadcore... tapos halos same performance lng ng Dual Core yung quadcore nila....technically its a Quadcore... pero sa performance.. prang DUAL core lang daw siya....kaya malakas kumain ng battery... kaya ill go for T2... Ty! ^^

    Ive no problem sa Specs... Ok yung brand ng CPU at GPU nya but How bout the ,service WARRANTY/DURABILITY/Quality? Matibay po ba ang overall na pgkakaBUILD ng KATA T2? ..Mejo bago po kasi para sakin ang Brand na KATA... mejo naTRAUMA kasi ako sa CM Flame kong binili last time, mejo nabasa lang ng ulan yung screen, (as in konting patak lang) pinasok na ng Tubig yung screen... ayun, sira na... dinala ko siya sa Service center ng CM,,, at mejo PAHIRAPAN sa pagpapaAYOS sakanila...parang AYAW nilang gawin.... at konting Bagsak lang nagkakaPROBLEMA na... ayoko na talaga ng CM.... kaya plano ko na magkaroon sana ng KATA T2... kaya po gusto ko malaman kung OK ba yung qulaity at service warranty niya? and BTW salamat po sa answer niyo... i really appreciated it..... sana po di kayo magSAWA na sagutin po ang mga tanong ko... hihihi (0^_^o)... Ty,,more powers!

    Hi Adrian,


    I bought my son a Kata T2 and unfortunately, there is no settings were you can set SD as your default storage for downloaded apps. You need to manually move your downloaded apps from internal to SD.

    I bought Kata T2 just recently. I admit that I'm having second thoughts about buying one since its specs is too good to be true :).


    But after using it the first time, I was impressed. The screen is so sensitive unlike other low cost androids in the market. The specifications is also great, appearance design is so elegant for a gadget that costs only 8K. Try it yourself, you wont regret it. My hubby also loves it and I trust his judgment as he is a known techie who knows everything about computer/gadget specifications.


    I heard from my brother that this unit can also be used for text and call function, you just need to buy a gadget worth 1200.

    kata looks very promising really... i got a hold of one unit, not a slight difference to the Samsung unit that i am using..its cheaper and elegant..i tried buying unit from Wellcom but they are selling trash...lot of people are complaining about their products and i was one of them...KATA is better..

    mini review for kata t2. 5mp decent camera wla lang flash pero ganyan naman ang tablet eh dka bmli ng tablet for the camera. mblis sya at kahit anung hd games eh sure na gagana sa kanya with no lag. may otg may hdmi ano pa hanap mo dba?. tapos 1 year replacement warranty pa matagal ma low bat at maganda ang screen nya. only negative na mssbi ko eh dahil jelly bean sya eh ang masaklap lang eh 2.2gb lang pwde mo install na apps and games dhil hnd nga pwde sa sd card mag lagay at install ng apps and games. unless i root mo pero ayoko muna i root cguro after na ng 1 year warranty. pero for 8k php sulit na sulit na sya bakit ka pa bibili ng mamahaling tablet like ipad samsung at nexus? bili ka nalang ng 3x kata t2 kesa bili ka ng ipad hehehehe tapos regalo mo sa anak mo nanay mo kapatid mo gf mo friend mo gets hehehe cant wait if ever magka kata t3.

    may kata t2 ako at sa pagkakaalam ko kapag Jelly Bean kana eh you cant install games on your sd card tested ko na yan same as samsung galaxy s3. sobrang gnda ng kata t2 pero dahil jelly bean sya eh ang masaklap lang eh 2.2gb lang pwde mo install na apps and games dhil hnd nga pwde sa sd card mag lagay at install ng apps and games. pero kung totoo ngang pwde eh please make a tutorial pero i doubt it unless i root mo pero ayoko muna i root cguro after na ng 1 year warranty

    With regards to this, Another helpful app is the CLEAN MASTER. Every time you finish installing a new App. It will prompt you if you want to transfer it to your SD Card (then it will guide you through the process)

    Questions lang po regarding Kata T2.
    1. Paano magbawas ng excess slides sa Home screen? (I currently have 5, but 1 slide is enough for me)
    2. Then, sa Apps Menu. Pwede pa bang ma organize ang mga Icons? Like ilagay sila sa separate folders o di kaya I-manually arrange?
