Experience the Blackberry Z10 with Sun Cellular’s Plan 1799!

In its latest handset, Blackberry (formerly known as RIM) aims to change the smartphone landscape dominated by Android and iOS phones. And judging from the seamlessness of the Z10, particularly in its user interface, it might just be the phone that will make you migrate from other operating systems, and perhaps never go back. More details after the jump.

The Blackberry Z10’s defining factor is its gesture-based interface, doing away with buttons – both physically and on the touchscreen – in favor of swipes. On paper, this may seem counter-intuitive as the average user may not be used to such a form of user input, but initial use will make you feel that this Z10’s user interactivity makes a lot of sense, and will quickly become second nature.

For apps, the usual suspects are there. Dedicated social media apps, an internet browser, communication features like e-mail and the ever popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM) are pre-installed and can be accessed right out of the box. Also, while still in its early stages, the Blackberry app ecosystem already boasts thousands of apps available, and this amount is set to exponentially increase given the time and the developer support that it needs.

Hardware-wise, the Z10 runs on stuff that you would expect on a modern smartphone. The 4.2 inch touch screen dominates the face of the device, and should be able to show the revamped user interface in its full glory without straining your eyes.  Meanwhile, a rubberized back cover protects the backside of the unit, protecting the phone from accidental drops. As for the camera – or cameras, for that matter – the Blackberry Z10 features an 8 megapixel shutter that can shoot 1080p videos, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.

The Z10 also sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an microSD card support, the last of which can support cards with up to 64GB of storage space.
