D-Link reveals entry-level DIR-820L Wireless AC Cloud Router!

D-Link has just revealed their latest addition to its line of AC Cloud Routers, the DIR-820L. The sleekly designed AC1000 Dual Band Cloud Router is equipped to provide transfer rates of up to 1 Gbps and operates on both the 2.4 GHz (up to 300Mbps) and 5 GHz (up to 867Mbps) wireless bands at the same time. This allows users to use the 2.4 GHz band for lesser band width activities such as surfing the web, chatting and emailing while simultaneously utilising the 5 GHZ band for heavier band width activities such as  streaming digital media, playing online games, or making Internet phone calls.

• SharePort Mobile: Equipped with the USB 2.0 SharePort technology, the DIR-820L works with the free SharePort mobile app to enable users to share and enjoy photos, music, and movie files among connected devices. Users can simply connect a USB drive to the DIR-820L router and effortlessly access stored personal files and multimedia. Music, video, and photos can be streamed or downloaded from the connected USB drive to multiple mobile devices from an intuitive touchscreen interface. It is is a great way to enjoy media without using valuable memory on your device – think of it as adding memory to your iPhone, iPad or Android.
• mydlink app: The DIR-820L comes with mydlink Cloud Services for easy management and configuration from anywhere via the free smart mydlink phone app. It allows you to monitor and control your home network from virtually anywhere via an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Using the mydlink Lite app, users can check if a computer, mobile device, gaming console, media player or other device is connected to their home network – a valuable tool for wary parents. E-mail alert notifications warn users in the event that intrusion attempts are detected, allowing them to sign into the mydlink Cloud application and block unwanted devices. Additionally, e-mail alerts are sent whenever important security updates are available ensuring the most up-to-date security features.
• Quick Router Setup (QRS) Mobile: DIR-820L can be configured for the first time from the comfort of a couch, using the QRS (Quick Router Setup) Mobile app for iPhone, iPad or Android. Owners with these devices simply plug in the router, open the app, and follow a few easy steps to establish a wireless network throughout the home without needing to touch a computer. Once a network is established, new devices can be added at the touch of a button using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). WPA/WPA2 encryption and a built-in dual-active firewall (SPI and NAT) ensure that data sent wirelessly is secure.
• mydlink Zero Configuration: Connecting the D-Link Cloud enabled product to mydlink enabled router is easy with mydlink Zero Configuration. Simply connect your mydlink-enabled device to the DIR-820L and the router will automatically link it to your mydlink account, you can setup your home surveillance instantly with D-Link Cloud Camera, stream your media files across the Internet with our ShareCenter Cloud Storage products without any configuration.
• IPv6 Support: Like all new D-Link Routers, the DIR-820L includes support for IPv6, making it forward compatible with the forthcoming changes to the protocol system that powers the Internet.

Availability
The DIR-820L D-Link Wireless AC Cloud Router will be available by the end of Q2, 2013.
