MDI’s Managed Services help drive enterprise growth in the Philippines
Regardless of company size or industry, most businesses would need outsourced assistance from time to time. This is the heart of managed services, in which the managed service provider (MSP) functions as a smart assistant that takes loads off an enterprise from its non-core and helps it focus on growing the business toward maximum profitability.
MDI, a Philippine systems integration company with 25 years of experience in computing infrastructure, converging network environments, enterprise security, and outsourcing technical services, is an Information Technology (IT) provider dedicated to developing business models in the Managed Services (MS) space.
Through its MS partnership with Kaseya (www.kaseya.com), an international company that produces remote management software for the IT industry, MDI takes on specific Information IT operations and information services from the client and assumes responsibility for these with commitment to agreed upon service levels.
MDI acts as an MSP to clients and takes accountability for the performance and functionality of some of the IT services of their MS clients. Accountability is measured through service level metrics as defined in a scope of work. Service delivery commitments are expressed as “service levels”.
Its MS portfolio comprises Managed Service Desk (Help Desk and Desktop), Managed Networking, and Managed Security. To deliver services professionally, MDI practices Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards and is committed to deliver customer satisfaction.
“We chose best practices for effective, efficient, and process-driven management of quality IT Services,” says Myla Villanueva, MDI Chairman. Its partner, Kaseya, which was founded in 2000, was named by the Network Product Guide IT Products and Services for Enterprise a winner in the following categories: Gold in IT Products and Services for Enterprise (Large); Silver in IT Products and Services for Enterprise (Medium); Bronze in Network Management; Bronze winner in Cloud Computing/SaaS.
“MS allow companies to focus on their core business by leaving technology worries to the MS provider,” said Alan Alipao, MDI General Manager for Consulting and Services. “Thus costs are predictable, with no surprises. And since the MSP, in this case MDI, takes care of upgrading IT infrastructure, management, particularly that with a lean allocation for IT expenses, has less worries,” Alipao adds.
It is important to know that MSP is not the same as outsourcing, which is the total surrender of an aspect of an organization to an outside entity. An MSP such as MDI can be considered as an extension of a business’ team and resources, giving management a more practicable budget, a more powerful infrastructure, and all-around peace of mind.
