D-Link announced that the mydlink Cloud Service has topped one million registered users worldwide. mydlink is a cloud-based service that adds unmatched value to D-Link’s award-winning Cloud Cameras, Cloud Routers, and Cloud Storage devices by making it possible for consumers to access them and stream media remotely over the Internet using a computer, smartphone or tablet, with support for up to 99 devices per user account.

Every day, countless users around the world use mydlink-enabled Cloud Cameras and their smartphone to check on their sleeping baby from the kitchen, look after elderly family members, or just see what is happening in the back yard at any time, day or night. The new mydlink-enabled Cloud Routers offer next-generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi speeds for seamless video streaming, online gaming, and VoIP calls. It also allows parents to view their children’s browsing history or block a child’s wireless device when it is time for homework or bed.

“When we launched the mydlink cloud service in 2010, our goal was to take the complexity out using of IP cameras and wireless networks,” said Mr Jonathan Quek, Marketing Director of D-Link International Pte Ltd. “Since then, the service has expanded to include a comprehensive range of D-Link Cloud Cameras, Routers and Storage Devices that help to make life better every day with easy access to a whole suite of cloud services.

A new mydlink-enabled Cloud Camera or other device needs to be registered with mydlink in order to use the service. Once the device is physically plugged in and connected to the network it can be configured from the setup wizard on a Windows PC or Mac. Users can either create a free mydlink account to activate the cloud service for the device, or add it to an existing account during the setup process.

Alternatively, mydlink Lite, which allows users to view live video feeds and check on the online status of the connected devices, or other mydlink apps can be installed on a smartphone or tablet for remote access, device management, and media streaming anytime on-the-go.

The full suite of mydlink mobile apps, including mydlink Lite for iPhone and iPod Touch and mydlink+ for iPad, are now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices. The application is also now available for Windows phones.
