ASUS unveils Fonepad 7 LTE, ZenFone, Fonepad and PadFone series at MWC 2014

At the Mobile World Congress, ASUS debuted two all-new additions to the popular Fonepad line, Fonepad 7 LTE (ME372CL) and Fonepad 7 (ME175CG). ASUS is also showcasing the complete lineup of its latest mobile products, including the ZenFone series, PadFone mini and the new PadFone.

ASUS Fonepad

The Fonepad 7 LTE (ME372CL), a 7-inch phablet with built-in LTE connectivity and phone functionality for consumers who want one uncompromising device to connect and entertain them. With blazingly fast data speeds, Fonepad 7 LTE delivers streaming video and music without a hitch and makes web browsing responsive and snappy. Dual front speakers and SonicMaster audio provide rich, immersive sound and are the perfect complement to Fonepad 7 LTE's HD IPS (in-plane switching) display. Together, movies and games come to life. Fonepad 7 LTE’s Intel Atom Z2560 1.6GHz processor with Hyper-Threading technology delivers powerful multi-tasking and graphical performance for the latest apps and games, while being energy efficient to provide all-day usage.

Another new product for Mobile World Congress, Fonepad 7 (ME175CG) is a 7-inch phablet with built-in 3G connectivity and phone functionality that delivers best value for a mobile device. Fonepad 7 features an HD IPS display for a sharp, vivid picture and a high-performance Intel Atom Z2520 1.2GHz processor to ensure a responsive and smooth experience. Its 3G connectivity further enhances performance and makes web browsing, social networking, and video calls fast and fluid.

ASUS ZenFone
ZenFone, the long-anticipated ASUS smartphone series, is available with screens ranging from 4 to 6 inches and in a variety of striking colors. With so many available combinations, there is a ZenFone to match anyone's needs and sense of style. All ZenFone models feature Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screens for incredible scratch resistance and durability.

ASUS FonePad 6

ZenFone 4 has a gorgeous 4-inch display and is easy to personalize with swappable back covers available in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue and Solar Yellow colors. It supports micro SD cards up to 64GB, giving plenty of room to store photos, videos, apps, and more. ZenFone 5 comes with a spacious 5-inch IPS HD display that can even be used while wearing gloves for easy operation on cold winter days. Its stunning design tapers to just 5.5mm at its thinnest edge. ZenFone 5 is available in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Champagne Gold and Twilight Purple colors. ZenFone 6 offers a fantastic 6-inch HD IPS display complemented by SonicMaster audio technology to deliver immersive entertainment experiences. It is equipped with a powerful 13-megapixel camera for clear, high-resolution photos. ZenFone 6 is available in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red and Champagne Gold colors.

Every ZenFone features PixelMaster camera technology to make it easier for users to capture great photos and videos. Additionally, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 have a PixelMaster feature called Low-light Mode that significantly increases camera performance in poorly lit scenes. By merging adjacent pixels, the camera increases light sensitivity by up to 400% and contrast up to 200%, resulting in clear and bright low-light shots without the need for a flash.

ASUS PadFone mini and the new PadFone
PadFone mini is a uniquely versatile device that combines the pocketability of a smartphone with the screen size of a tablet. Comprised of a 4-inch smartphone that docks seamlessly in a palm-sized 7-inch tablet, PadFone mini lets users expand their view and charge their phone at the same time. With a powerful Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, 8GB of internal storage, and up to 64GB micro SD card support, PadFone mini has all the power and resources needed for both phone and tablet apps. It also features dual SIM support for incredible connectivity, giving users the freedom to have two phone numbers or separate data and phone lines.

The new ASUS PadFone

For those who prefer larger screens, the new PadFone is a 5-inch Full HD smartphone with fast LTE connectivity that easily transforms into a 10-inch Full HD tablet. Featuring a sleek aluminum unibody design and driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz processor, the new PadFone  smoothly runs the latest apps and HD video with style. Its 13-megapixel PixelMaster camera excels at capturing crisp, vivid photos no matter the subject or lighting.

ASUS ZenUI
Developed on the concepts of freedom, expression and connection, ZenUI is the all-new user interface exclusive to ASUS mobile devices, and is first available on ZenFone and PadFone mini. Featuring a new visual design made to be efficient and inviting, it contains modern 'flat' icons, vivid color themes, animations, new ringtones and notification sounds, and a clean layout to clearly present information.

ZenUI also includes two features — What's Next and Do It Later — designed to free users from the actively having to manage the multitude of information they are confronted with daily and enable them to be more productive. What's Next puts the information currently most important and useful to the user — such as upcoming appointments, new messages and missed calls from VIP contacts, weather at the next destination, and more — front and center on the lock screen, the home screen and in the notification drawer.

Do It Later frees the user to focus on the task at hand without forgetting about other important things to do later. If a user is in the middle of writing an email and receives a phone call, a simple button tap automatically creates a reminder to call that person back. Users can also save interesting items, like articles, YouTube videos, or any web page, to read later. Each reminder and saved item is collected in the separate Do It Later app and includes a shortcut to perform the related action, such as call a contact or view a webpage.
