Ford Philippines recently announced its best-ever May sales performance, with sales rising 39 percent from a year earlier to 1,711 units driven by the all-new EcoSport, all-new Ranger, and Everest. This brings Ford’s year-to-date sales to 7,167 units, up 43 percent from a year earlier.

Consistently one of Ford’s top-selling nameplates in the Philippines, the Ford Ranger saw sales rise 31 percent to 586 units in May. Ford has sold 2,686 units of the Ranger year to date, up 69 percent from the same period a year earlier.

Ford’s all-new EcoSport sold 452 units in its second month of deliveries, continuing to attract customers with a unique blend of versatility, fuel efficiency and smart technology in an SUV designed with an active urban lifestyle in mind.

“The compact and versatile all-new EcoSport continues to be a hit among Filipinos, especially for parents with children who are gearing up for school opening this June,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “The Ford Ranger continues to impress with its rugged versatility and best-in-class performance. These two nameplates are clear examples of how we’re expanding our showrooms to serve more Filipino customers than ever before.”

The Company recently announced the addition of three new Wildtrak variants to its Ranger lineup, which are now available in all dealerships across the country: manual and automatic versions of the 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4x2, and a manual-transmission 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4x4. The 4x2 variants sport new safety features and Ford’s globally proven Duratorq 2.2L TDCi engine, with peak torque of 375 Nm and power of 150 PS. The 3.2L variant uses Ford’s state-of-the-art Duratorq 3.2L TDCi engine, rated at 470 Nm and 200 PS.

With the new models, customers in the Philippines will be able to choose from 13 variants of the best-in-class pickup.

Ford’s larger SUVs also contributed to the strong month, with 306 unit sales of the Ford Everest and 83 unit sales of the class-defining Ford Explorer. In the first five months of the year, Ford sold 1,373 units of the Ford Everest, up 28 percent from a year earlier, and 491 units of the Explorer, up 42 percent from the same period in 2013.

Available with Ford’s award-winning 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, the stylish new Ford Fiesta enjoyed sales of 192 units in May. For the year to date, Fiesta sales have totaled 1,015 units, up 6 percent year-on-year.

Small enough to fit into carry-on luggage on an airplane, the smallest member of Ford’s global EcoBoost engine family rivals the performance of a traditional 1.6L petrol engine with 125 PSof power and 170 Nm of peak torque in the new Fiesta, while achieving fuel economy of 18.9 km/L and carbon dioxide emissions of just 121 g/km.
