Transform your phone into a baby monitor with D-Link’s mydlink Cloud Wi-Fi Baby Camera Lite
D-Link has just introduced a new member in its baby camera line-up – the DCS-820L mydlink Cloud Wi-Fi Baby Camera Lite. The smart camera provides parents with on-the-go monitoring of their children simply by linking up with mydlink-enabled mobile devices. The multifunctional gadget features night vision, motion and crying detection, video recording and built-in lullaby playback to let parents keep track of their child’s wellbeing.
Mr. Jonathan Quek, Product Marketing Manager for D-Link International said, “The DCS-820L is the perfect introductory camera for those parents new to the world of baby monitor cameras. It is packed with easy-to-use features to give parents peace of mind when away from home. Simple to set up and use, the camera transforms your mobile device into a versatile baby monitor and can link up to three devices, which is great for
working parents.”
Intelligent Baby Monitoring with Night Vision, Motion and Audio Detection
A versatile and unique camera solution targeted for baby care, the DCS-820L is equipped with infrared LED that provides around the clock surveillance regardless of lighting conditions. The night vision mode is automatically activated under low-light conditions. The camera is also fitted with motion detection sensors, so alerts can be sent to parents whenever their child rouses from their sleep.
The smart sound detection can be set up to trigger upon a child’s cries, and alerts can be sent to the parents’ mobile phones. Using the linked Android and iOS devices, parents can also choose between five built-in lullabies to help soothe babies back to sleep.
Simple Setup Process
It only takes a few hassle-free steps for parents to install the Wi-Fi Baby Camera Lite.
- Download the mydlink Baby Camera Monitor App that is free from Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Next, place the camera in the desired location, for example, above the baby’s cot or overlooking a play area, and switch it on.
- Connect your mobile device to the camera via its default wireless name and password (found on the rear of device).
- Run the mydlink Baby Camera Monitor App which will automatically detect the camera. Complete the device setup by linking it to your home Wi-Fi network.
The Wi-Fi Baby Camera Lite doesn’t just work for babies as well, and can also be used for keeping watch over pets or even the elderly who are motion-impaired at home.
Complete Monitoring System in One Camera
Unlike a standard webcam, the smart baby camera comes as a complete standalone system. Fitted with a built-in central processing unit (CPU) and web server, the camera is able to transmit video images via one’s home Wi-Fi network, or through storage in the attached microSD card. The VGA CMOS image sensor also captures clear visuals, while the high compression rate capability ensures that home Wi-Fi networks will not be bogged down by large video files being sent from the camera. The palm-sized camera measures at 86 x 92 x 120mm and weighs a mere 174.4g (approximately equivalent to an iPhone 6 Plus) can be installed easily in any indoor environment, including wall mounting.
Price and Availability
The D-Link DCS-820L mydlink Cloud Wi-Fi Baby Camera Lite will be available on October 2014 at authorized retailers, resellers, and distribution partners with an SRP of Php8,899.
