Smart, GameX back biggest gathering of top eSports players, gaming developers in PH
Smart Communications and its online gaming portal GameX, are backing the biggest gathering of top gamers, game developers and enthusiasts in the country at the first ever eSports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) on November 15 to 16 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Open to everyone, the two-day event will feature simultaneous competitions of the hottest action-packed games, including DOTA 2, Dragon Nest, Ultra Street Fighter IV, StarCraft, Strife, Point Blank, Tekken Tag 2,League of Legends, and HearthStone, among others – featuring a pool prize of over Php200,000.
The summit also features exhibits by leading game publishers, the latest gaming gadgets and gears in the market, an open floor Cosplay competition, a Rig Modding contest, as well as a showcase of upcoming games developed by Filipino gamers.
“For the first time in the country, the ESGS gathers eSports players, game publishers as well as Filipino game developers in one big event where they can interact with and learn from one another. It is a big showcase of the country’s lively eSports scene and the great talent of Pinoys in this domain,” said Jobert Yu, ESGS head organizer.
“With ESGS, we are also promoting the Philippines as a viable venue for big eSports competitions and events, with the great backing of Pinoy gaming fans and enthusiasts.”
At the event, GameX, the country’s top gaming portal and leading eSports advocate, is also set to unveil the GameX Girls, which consists of four gamer girls who have the chance to become the next social media ambassadors of the brand.
Those who will flock to the GameX and Smart booth at the event will also have a chance to take home premium items, as well as learn more about how they can conveniently buy gaming credits and ePins on GameX using their Smart, Sun and Talk ‘N Text regular load or postpaid bill.
Tickets to the event are priced from P150 per day, available at Ticketnet outlets and SM Cinemas.
