ViewSonic PJD5255 XGA DLP Unboxing: A price-performance projector!

ViewSonic PJD5255 XGA DLP Unboxing

Here's an unboxing of my new ViewSonic PJD5255 XGA DLP projector. Nowadays, projectors are getting smaller, brighter and cheaper. With 200 lumens, native XGA 1024 x 768 resolution, and intuitive, user-friendly design, this projector is just right to be placed in my studio for watching movies and for business presentation.

Package Contents: ViewSonic projector, Power cord, VGA cable, Remote control with batteries,
Quick Start Guide and ViewSonic Wizard CD (with User Guide)

The ViewSonic PJD5255 projector itself is rather smaller than the typical full-size model, and fits easily onto most desks. I can easily hold it in one hand.

ViewSonic provides a setup image, accessible from the projector menu, for you to adjust brightness and contrast to the correct levels for your viewing environment. A tactile keypad provides ease of use with raised and concave buttons, plus a central reference button. These assist in making set up easier in dark environments or if the projector is ceiling mounted.

This fan is located in the front of the projector. When the power is on, the fan noise is hardly noticeable. I think it is a great advantage as some projectors make big noise that spoils my movie watching. Hairline-textured metal surfaces give this projector an elegantly sleek look.

As necessary, you can also finely adjust the height of the projector by twisting the elevator feet by hand.

Setup is easy, simply plug in to your video source and it is detected automatically or if for some reason it is not it is easily selected with the source button on the remote or on the top of the projector.

Packed with 3,200 lumens and a high contrast ratio (15,000:1 in DynamicEco mode, or 2,400:1 typical), the ViewSonic PJD5255 is guaranteed to produce bright images in any environment – even in rooms with high ambient light. This projector features a sleek design and advanced SuperColor technology to deliver excellent color and more brightness than ever possible in this class of projector. ViewSonic’s proprietary SuperColor Technology offers a wider color range than conventional DLP projectors, ensuring that users enjoy more realistic and accurate colors. With an exclusive color wheel design and dynamic lamp control capabilities, SuperColor Technology projects images with reliable and true-to-life color performance, in both bright and dark environments, without sacrificing image quality.

Providing 5 pre-set color modes, users can choose the best one to suit their material. These 5 modes are: Brightest Mode for environments where extra-high brightness is required; Dynamic Mode for presentations with a lot of text; Standard Mode for matching PC or notebook color; ViewMatch Mode for general viewing; Movie Mode for watching movies with better saturation in a dark environments.
