Nimble Storage announces expansion in Cebu
US-based flash storage solutions company Nimble Storage recently announced its plans to expands its operations in Cebu driven by its consistently growing customer base in the country. In a statement, Nimble Storage said the company will explore key alliances to further grow its market and establish reseller partnerships in Cebu.
The flash storage company, distributed in the country by Westcon Group Philippines, will provide support to multiple large Manila customers' secondary data center based in Cebu.
"Nimble is also set to provide solutions to small and mid-range companies in Cebu," said Peter O'Connor, Nimble Storage's Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan.
The company considers the Philippines an aggressive adopter of Nimble technology because of growing customers in industries such as IT product manufacturing, software development and business process outsourcing.
Given its growing local customer base, Nimble Storage is optimistic about its expansion plans in the country. The company expects that the customer adoption rate in Cebu will be as fast as the market growth observed in Manila.
"We have set up an expansive spare parts depot and are recruiting partners who we train for free because we think that we will be successful in Cebu like in Manila," O'Connor said.
The expansion in the Queen City of the South is also part of Nimble Storage's strategic direction to further enhance its intentional presence.
The Philippines is one of the first markets that Nimble Storage opened in the ASEAN region. Customers in the country have received the company well from the perspective of total cost of ownership, efficiency, and simplified operations.
