Carmudi

After raising $25 million funds in February, launching their iOS app and crossing two million vehicle listings, Carmudi continues to show exceptional growth and shows no signs of slowing down.

The vehicle marketplace, which offers buyers, sellers and car dealers the ideal platform to find cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles online, attracted 6.4 million monthly visitors during the second quarter of 2015—a 17.6 increase over its first quarter.

The online portal makes the car shopping a whole lot easier for its users as consumers no longer have to pick random dealers in order to buy his preferred vehicle. With just one click on its site, users now can browse through 60 showrooms with ease, speed, and convenience.

Globally, the number of monthly visitors grew in all 20 countries. These countries include Sri lanka, Ivory Coast and Vietnam, which shows an exceptional 68-percent growth in visitors and traffic.

With the increase of mobile phones usage, the company already hit over 3 million mobile visits in May with 35-percent from January 2015 and more than 150,000 of visitors per month visits via Carmudi apps. The highest numbers of iOS app visits can be seen in Vietnam, Nigeria and in Bangladesh. One of the main reason it become a huge success is because the company still designed apps even in slowest internet connection.

Launched in end of 2013, the online car classifieds now operates in 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America and already been the market leader in Bangladesh, Myanmar and the Philippines. With over two million listings in the past year, Carmudi is on the fast track to become the number one place to buy and sell cars in the emerging markets.

“So far, 2015 has been a stellar year for Carmudi and we will continue to provide our users with the best car shopping experience and to be number one in the industry. We want Carmudi to be a household name, a one-stop-shop for all car related subjects”, said, Subir Lohani, managing director of Carmudi Philippines.

“In the Philippines, we are experiencing a significant growth in terms of numbers—from our listings to operations. In couple of months, we are targeting to set a new satellite office in Davao as part of our expansion. We only focused where there is a huge demand and where we can be the market leader,” adds Lohani.

Recently, the company unveils a report of survey conducted online for both car buyers and car dealers that provides a global view of consumer-purchasing behavior and automotive sales across the emerging market.
