MMPC announces Safety Inspection Campaign for Airbag Inflator for Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX and Fuzion
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), attuned with the directive of its principal, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan, will conduct a safety inspection campaign on the affected units on Lancer, Lancer Evolution IX, and Fuzion attributable to the yet unsubstantiated failure on the supplied airbag inflators. This proactive measure is meant to ensure the safety of our valued customers on the affected vehicles. To date, there has been no reported failure in the Philippines.
The inspection and/or replacement procedure of the affected airbag inflator may take about two (2) hours at the most and shall be free of charge. Those included in this safety inspection campaign shall be for Lancer Evolution IX model year 2009 - 2010, Lancer model year 2006 - 2009 and Fuzion model year 2005 - 2008.
There will be a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) checking/verification procedure for all potentially affected units which will be posted in a press release in MMPC’s website. To ensure smooth servicing, customers may call their Mitsubishi dealership to schedule the servicing of their unit.
