Heads up to all junior and senior high school, and college students who are currently enrolled in any public or private school in Region VI! The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office VI (DOST Region VI) has just announced a YES! TV Vlog Competition as part of the upcoming 2020 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) celebration with the theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kabuhayan, Kaayusan, at Kinabukasan.”

ELIGIBILITY

1. Open to all junior and senior high school, and college students composed of 1-5 members who are currently enrolled in any public or private school in Region VI.
2. Groups may come from same or different schools and levels.
3. Groups with 2 or more members should observe minimum health safety protocols (wearing of face mask/face shield and observe social distancing of at least 2 meters) in the whole duration of the vlog. Entries who do not observe proper protocols will be disqualified upon screening.
4. Employees of DOST VI and their relatives up to the first degree of affinity and consanguinity are disqualified from joining.

CONTEST MECHANICS

1. Only one (1) entry per individual/group only.
2. All entries must be a 2-3 minute video in landscape orientation at least 640x480 resolution. It is advised that the entries should be uploaded in the participants' Youtube account for easier linking to the DOST Region VI official Facebook page.
3. The vlog should demonstrate and explain one or more science principles (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Information Technology, or Mathematics) in a form of documentary, short story, music video, and the like. It can be in Filipino, Hiligaynon or English. The more creative and unique the video, the higher chances of winning.
4. Entries must be original, unpublished online or in any other media platform and has not been submitted to any other contest/s. Songs and musical scoring should have no copyright infringement.
5. Entries containing foul and offensive language are subject to immediate disqualification.
6. Entries will be screened before being shared to the DOST Region VI Facebook page for public viewing. Every reaction or share of the video will earn points. Crediting of points will be:
1. Like/Reaction = 1 point
2. Share = 2 points

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

• Depth and Difficulty - 30%
• Clarity of Content - 25%
• Creativity - 25%
• Facebook Reactions & Shares - 20%

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

• Submit the link of your Youtube video to dost6youth@gmail.com on or before: November 20, 2020 at 11:59PM.
• Additional details to be submitted in doc/docx format:

• The submitted videos will become properties of the DOST VI and will be used for promotions

PRIZES AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

1. Prizes for winners are as follows:
• First Prize: Gift Certificate amounting to Php5,000
• Second Prize: Gift Certificate amounting to Php3,000
• Third Prize: Gift Certificate amounting to Php2,000
2. All winners shall receive a Certificate of Recognition.
3. The entries will be judged by the staff of DOST Region VI. The scores at this stage will determine the winners of the competition.
4. The winners will be announced on the week of December 3, 2020 on the DOST Region VI Facebook Page.
5. The decision of the board of judges will be final and unappealable.
