realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo Unboxing and Hands-on
Launching alongside the realme Watch 2 Series and to accompany your workouts and make them more enjoyable, realme Philippines also launched the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo, a True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones built for working out and gaming.
I was able to get my hands on one and I am very excited to share with you my unboxing experience and my initial impressions. So, let us start with the unboxing.
Unboxing the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo
The front portion indicates the Buds Wireless 2 Neo branding; while the model number, generic name, color, customer care details and six important key features of the Buds Wireless 2 Neo are imprinted on the backside of the box.
You can also find the realme logo on both sides. There is nothing to look at from the top and bottom portions of the box.
Inside the Box and Accessories
After opening the box and sliding its contents, you will see first the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo.
On the other side reveals the earbud tips in two sizes (S and L with M-size tips already installed by default on the earbuds), a user guide, a warranty card safety guide and a short Type-C charging cable for charging the case.
Design and Walk Around
realme adopts a neckband-style grip for the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo. Weighing only 23.1g, the lightweight design offers a comfortable and light feeling around the neck. As for the color, the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo comes in three colors, namely: Black, Blue and Green. My unit comes in Black color.
On the right stem, you can find here the LED notification light, Type-C charging port and the three buttons - volume keys and in between it the multi-function button.
There’s nothing on the left stem except for an embedded realme logo. Also on the band itself, we can find some subtle left and right indicators at the back.
Now, let's take a closer look at the earbuds themselves. On the top is the Magnetic Instant Connection where you can just separate the buds to continue the track and clip them together to disconnect and save battery life. Also, each earbud has 2 microphones that have an Environment Noise Cancellation feature to reduce background noise and makes the voice clear during phone calls.
Pairing and realme Link App
To pair the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo, just separate the two earbuds to enter pairing mode. Then press and hold the multi-function button for 3 seconds.
To connect the earphone, turn on the Bluetooth of your device, then search and connect to realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo. On the realme Link app, just tap the plus icon to add the device and select realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo on nearby devices.
Once connected, the app will allow you to see if the device is connected, its battery level, sound effects (Bass Boost+, Dynamic and Bright), volume enhancer, enable Game mode, auto-answer calls and customize the multi-function button and as well as updates on the firmware.
The multi-function button supports several controls: A single press answers or hangs up a call, pauses or plays music; double-press skips to the next track; and triple-press enables game mode. A long press and hold on the multi-function button will summon your preferred voice assistant.
Audio Quality and Comfort
As to the audio quality, it’s on the decent side for its price. You can feel the bass, vocals are present and still clear, and it can also get very loud.
For comfort, the Buds Wireless 2 Neo is light and comfortable to wear. It also securely fits on my ear and does not fall off even if I tried shaking, running and jumping hard.
Latency and Other Features
For a richer gaming experience, the realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo features an 88ms latency. The low-latency mode works as expected, it reduces the audio lag when watching movies or playing games.

You can charge it via a USB Type-C charging port and the battery can be fully charged from 0% to 100% in just 2 hours. The Buds Wireless 2 Neo also supports quick charging. With just 10 minutes of charging time, you’ll get 2 hours of music playback.
