realme Motion Activated Night Light Unboxing and Hands-on
Launching alongside the Watch 2 Series and the Buds Wireless 2 Neo, realme Philippines also launched its Motion Activated Night Light, ideal for accomplishing quick tasks at night.
Today, I got my hands on one, and I am very excited to share my unboxing experience and initial impressions with you. So, let us start with the unboxing.
Unboxing
The packaging comes in realme's signature yellow-colored box with a clean look design.
The front portion indicates the Motion Activated Night Light branding; while the model number, technical details, customer care details and three important key features of the Motion Activated Night Light are found on the backside of the box.
You can also find the realme logo on both sides. There is nothing to look at from the top and bottom portions of the box.
What’s Inside the Box
After opening the box and sliding its contents, you will see the realme Motion Activated Night Light, Base, 3 x AAA batteries and User Manual.
After unboxing, let us now take a look at the physical overview and proceed with my firsthand experience of the device.
Design and Walk Around
The realme Motion Activated Night Light comes with a minimalist design and is shaped like a donut. According to realme, the simple and clean design blends Scandinavian style and the smooth contours of jade pendants. The frosted surface also prevents smudges and fingerprints.
The outer ring of the realme Motion Activated Night Light is the light-emitting zone that contains the LEDs, while the inner portion is the induction zone and contains the two sensors - infrared motion sensor and photo-sensors. On the opposite side is the back cover.
Operation
To operate the device, just turn the battery cover anticlockwise to open the battery cover. Inside you will find the brightness gear adjusting button, the three AAA battery compartments and three strong magnets.
The brightness gear adjusting button has two options. First is the 3lm at low gear which is suitable for a night lamp - toilets, corridors, bedroom and children’s room. The 10 lm at high gear is suitable for auxiliary lighting - doorway, hallway, wardrobe, wall lamp and balcony.
The three magnets can be attached securely to any magnetic surface, while the adhesive base can easily stick to most smooth surfaces. Aside from the strong magnets, the realme Motion Activated Night Light can also be hung with a string or hook, due to its ring-shaped design.
Sensors and Diffused Lighting
The light automatically turns on when it detects human body in low light conditions and automatically turns off after 15 seconds if no body activity is detected.
The induction range of the night lamp is a 120° fan-shaped area spreading out in the front of the lamp with the center of the induction area as the center of the circle. The induction distance is 0-6m in front and 0-2.5m on the side of the sensing area, the light effect may change depending on the angle of the lamp, ambient temperature, user’s body size and walking pace.
The LED light of the realme Motion Activated Night Light is very well-diffused and has a 2800K color temperature, which stimulates the softness of natural light and protects our eyes, especially at night. Also, the night light does not flicker and has no harmful blue light.
Battery Life
According to realme, the Motion Activated Night Light can last up to 365 days of light on three AAA batteries in low light mode and if used fifteen times per day. You only have to replace the batteries once a year.
