Nokia Comfort Earbuds (TWS-411) Unboxing and Hands-on

HMD Global recently launched in the Philippines the Nokia Comfort Earbuds (TWS-411). The Nokia Comfort Earbuds are part of the revamped Nokia audio portfolio under the Comfort line that was first announced last July 2021.

The Nokia Comfort Earbuds feature a 10mm driver, touch control, USB Type-C charging case, and IPX5 water resistance. The buds also come with a natural and ergonomic design and provide up to 9.5 hours of comfortable listening on one charge.

Today, I was able to get my hands on one and I’d like to share my unboxing experience as well as my hands-on experience with the device. So, let's deal first with the unboxing.

Unboxing the Nokia Comfort Earbuds

The packaging of the Nokia Comfort Earbuds comes in a white-colored box. The front portion indicates the Comfort Earbuds branding; while the earbud's features and box contents are imprinted on the backside of the box.

Inside the Box and Accessories

After lifting the cover, you will first see the Comfort Earbuds charging case with the L/R earbuds found inside.

Underneath reveals the earbud tips in two sizes (S and L with M-size tips already installed by default on the earbuds), a quick start guide, a manufacturer’s warranty guide, and a short Type-C charging cable.

Design and Walk Around

For the design, the Nokia Comfort Earbuds come in a matte pebble-like casing and the earbuds feature a natural and ergonomic design with unique comfort rings.

The Comfort Earbuds are available in two colors - Black and White.

The front contains the LED notification, while on the back is the hinge of the charging case and Type-C charging port. The case comes with a Magnetic lid to secure both buds.

Found inside the charging case are the earbuds and the left/right charging contact pins.

Now, let's take a closer look at the earbuds themselves. At the top is where the earbud touch control area, LED indicator lights and tuning hole are located. Meanwhile, the charging contact pins, L/R indicator, and microphone can be seen at the bottom.

Pairing

For pairing, the Nokia Comfort Earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.1. It can easily pair to any Bluetooth compatible device, and can also automatically switch between one or both earbuds for phone calls.

When you take the earbuds out from the charging case, the earbuds will turn on and pair with each other automatically. When they have successfully paired, the LED indicator light of the right earbud will flash blue and red alternately and the earbuds are ready to connect with your Bluetooth device.

To connect, just choose “Nokia TWS-411“ from the Bluetooth menu, and during the connection process, the LED indicator light on the right earbud will flash blue and red alternately. The LED indicator lights of the earbuds will flash blue every 10 seconds when they are successfully connected via Bluetooth.

After the initial pairing, the earbuds will automatically connect with your Bluetooth device whenever taken out of the charging case. The earbuds will automatically power off if there is no Bluetooth connection within 5 minutes. You can also use either the left and right bud as a mono headset after the initial pairing.

To reset the earbuds in case of faulty pairing or when one of the earbuds is not working, just place both buds into the charging case, and press each of the buds 4 times rapidly until the LED indicator turns purple.

Audio Quality, Comfort, and Other Features

As to the audio quality, it’s on the decent side for its price. You can feel the bass, vocals are present and still clear, and it can also get very loud.

For comfort, the earbuds are lightweight and feel comfortable to wear. It securely fits on my ear and does not fall off if I tried shaking my head hard.

The earbuds also feature touch functionality, allowing users to toggle earbud settings with just a light tap. Additionally, the earbuds come with a 10mm driver and support IPX5 water resistance.

Battery Life and Charging

According to Nokia, the Comfort Earbuds' music playtime is up to 9.5 hours on one charge. Charging the earbuds in the case up to 4 times makes the total playtime up to 29 hours.

And when you’re all out of battery power, USB Type-C charging with an LED indicator lets you know at a glance when you’ve leveled up again.
