Nokia 2660 Flip Unboxing and Review
With the sold-out success of Nokia’s Originals family, many Filipinos from the old and younger generation are now embracing minimalism in their lifestyle and seeking more sustainable fashion. This is why feature phones are becoming highly sought after and to cater to this demand of Filipino feature phone seekers, HMD Global launched its newest feature phones last September - the Nokia 8210 4G and Nokia 2660 Flip.
I was able to get my hands on the latter, the Nokia 2660 Flip. It is an easy-to-use flip phone that features a large display, big buttons, long-lasting battery life, and a zoomed-in interface. It also comes with enhanced accessibility and the signature Nokia phone reliability.
This review will further help you in deciding whether this phone is the one you are looking for. First, let's deal with the unboxing.
Unboxing the Nokia 2660 Flip
The front portion of the package shows the Nokia 2660 Flip; while the phone's key features are imprinted at the back.
On the left side is the Nokia 2660 Flip print while the phone image is on the right.
Inside the Box and Accessories
Underneath the plastic that houses the Nokia 2660 Flip are the following: removable battery, micro-USB charger, quick start guide, and headset.
Design and Walk Around
The Nokia 2660 Flip comes in a nostalgic clamshell phone design with rounded corners. The polycarbonate shell of the Nokia 2660 Flip is strong enough to take on the knocks and bumps of everyday life, while the flip mechanism looks sturdy and reliable. It is also very compact and light at 123g and can be gripped easily and can effortlessly slide in and out of the pocket. In the Philippines, said unit comes only in 1 color, which is Black.
Being a flip phone, the Nokia 2260 Flip is equipped with two displays - an internal 2.8-inch and an external 1.77-inch display. The latter is dedicated to displaying essentials like time, alerts, and notifications. Also, it made call handling simple by bringing the mic and earpiece closer.
Found inside and above the display are the Nokia logo and the earpiece. While on the back, there’s a 0.3MP VGA camera, a single LED flash, and a loudspeaker.
Located at the right of the phone are the volume rocker and power/wake button. On the left are the 3.5mm headset jack and the micro-USB port.
The extra large buttons on the Nokia 2660 Flip are made of plastic which are clicky and firm.
After opening the back cover, it revealed the removable battery, dual SIM (nano-SIM) card slots, and microSD card slot. This unique placement is only available to feature phones.
Display and Audio
The 2.8-inch QVGA (240 x 320) TFT display produces vibrant colors, but the viewing angles are not that good and the screen could use a bit more boost in brightness—yes, you can still use it outdoors comfortably. At 143ppi, the display is low-res but is good enough for viewing and reading text messages.
The audio quality of the loudspeaker found at the back is like your typical feature phone in this price range. It can get loud and the audio quality is not that good. I recommend using headphones or an external speaker using the 3.5mm audio jack for better audio quality.
Camera
The Nokia 2660 Flip camera features a 0.3MP VGA camera with LED flash. As expected, the rear camera produced low-quality images. Despite the camera being just above the external display, there is no means of taking a selfie as only one display is active at a time.
Video
For video, the Nokia 2660 Flip captures videos in QVGA (320 x 240) resolution in 3GPP format.
Series 30+, Apps, and Security
The Nokia 2660 Flip runs on the Series 30+ platform. The zoomed-in user interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. There’s a web browser, Facebook, file manager, unit conversion, voice recorder, and 8 games including the modernized version of the classic game Snake.
The Nokia 2660 Flip features a wireless FM radio (no headset needed), accessibility mode, and a dedicated emergency button, that can be assigned to contacts listed on the phone book and can be used when the phone is open or closed. Nokia 2660 Flip also comes with Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC).
In terms of security, the Nokia 2260 Flip is equipped with an automatic keyguard that can be secured with a code.
Hardware and Performance
The Nokia 2660 Flip sports a Unisoc T107 processor. This processor is made using a 22nm process and is equipped with Cortex-A7 core at 1.0GHz. The phone comes with 48MB of RAM, and the performance of the Nokia 2660 Flip is decent for a feature phone; it is responsive when navigating the UI, opening apps, taking photos, and communicating.
The Nokia 2660 Flip is available in the Philippines in one storage variant - 128MB storage, which is tiny for storing your digital files. If you need additional storage, you can further expand the storage up to 32GB via its dedicated microSD card slot.
Battery Life, Charging, and Connectivity
The Nokia 2660 Flip comes with a removable 1,450mAh battery with a battery life that lasts for weeks on standby and delivers hours of talk time, so you worry less about running out of power.
Charging is slow with the included charger; the battery can be fully charged up to 100% in about 2 hours.
Aside from the battery and charger, the Nokia 2660 Flip has the usual connectivity features found in feature phones, like dual SIM (nano-SIM) support, Bluetooth 4.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-USB (USB 2.0).

Is the Nokia 2660 Flip the phone for you? If you are a person who is looking for a budget phone, this phone might not be on your radar since there are lots of smartphones near this price range. However, if you are looking for a nostalgic feature phone or a secondary phone that is easy to use, with long-lasting battery life, where call and text are your main concern, I recommend buying the Nokia 2660 Flip. The Nokia 2660 Flip is a good, reliable, and convenient-to-use handset as your daily partner.
