realme 10 Pro 5G Unboxing and First Impression
Following the successful launch of realme 10 last November of 2022, realme Philippines is starting the new year in full swing with the back-to-back launch of realme 10 Pro Series 5G this coming February 14. The models that are going to be launched are the realme 10 Pro 5G and the realme 10 Pro+ 5G.
I was able to get my hands on the former, the realme 10 Pro 5G. It boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 108MP dual rear camera, and is backed up by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. In terms of memory and battery, the device is equipped with 8GB RAM that can expand up to 16GB with up to 8GB Dynamic RAM Expansion and a 5000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC Charge.
With that, I am very excited to share with you my unboxing experience as well as my initial impression of the device. So, let's start with the unboxing.
Unboxing the realme 10 Pro 5G
As expected, the packaging comes in realme's signature yellow-colored box. The front portion indicates the realme 10 Pro 5G branding; the brand details—model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and the four important features of the realme 10 Pro 5G are imprinted on the back portion of the box.
You can also find the realme 10 Pro 5G print on the left and the realme logo on the right.
Inside the Box and Accessories
After opening the lid of the box, these pleasing lines -- “Hey, welcome to realme Family” will greet you.
The pack contained a SIM card ejector tool, a protective silicone case, a quick start guide, and important product information (including the Warranty Card).
Underneath the pack is the realme 10 Pro 5G smartphone wrapped in white matte plastic. Beneath is the 33W SUPERVOOC charger and USB type-C to USB-A charging cable. realme 10 Pro 5G doesn’t come with headphones – you still have to provide your own.
After unboxing, let us now take a look at the physical overview and my first impression of the device.
Design and Walk Around
Similar to its predecessors in the entire Number Series lineup, the realme 10 Pro 5G sports a design that can turn heads. The realme 10 Pro 5G will come in three color options: Dark Matter, Hyperspace Gold, and Nebula Blue. The Nebula Blue color of my phone was inspired by the elements in outer space. I like this kind of finish which is brushed and matte because it is less susceptible to fingerprint smudges.
In addition to its design, the realme 10 Pro 5G comes in a polycarbonate body and frame. The Nebula Blue variant also weighs 190g and has a thickness of 8.1mm.
On the front, the realme 10 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080x2400) IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and comes with a pre-installed screen protector. What makes the realme 10 Pro 5G stand out compared to its competition is that it is packed in a nearly bezel-less display with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.76%. Its bezels are as thin as 1mm on the left and right sides, with 1.15mm on the top and 4.2mm when it comes to the chin.
The phone also comes with double-reinforced glass for added durability. Additionally, there’s a centered hole-punch 16MP camera on the top, and the earpiece which doubles as a speaker is quite thin and discretely etched above the display.
Found at the back are two protruding camera modules that house a dual-camera set-up along with a single LED flash. The two cameras are the 108MP main and the 2MP depth.
On the left side of the phone is the hybrid SIM tray. A hybrid SIM tray can hold either a second SIM card or a microSD card for expandable storage.
Found on the right are the standard volume rocker button and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the power button.
The top is clean with only the secondary noise-canceling microphone present.
At the bottom, you can find the USB Type-C charging port, downward-firing speaker, primary microphone, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Internals
The realme 10 Pro 5G boasts a very capable and battery-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor that adopts the advanced 6nm production process and houses 2 Cortex-A78 cores, 6 Cortex-A55 cores, and an Adreno 619 GPU. It also comes with 8GB of RAM with Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) and will be available in one storage variant - 256GB storage.
The realme 10 Pro 5G series is the first smartphone from realme to come with realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. The realme 10 Pro 5G has a 5,000mAh battery and 33W SUPERVOOC Charge technology to complement the overall specs of the smartphone.
Cameras
As for the camera, the realme 10 Pro 5G boasts a dual-camera set-up—consists of the 108MP F1.8 primary camera with Phase Detection autofocus (PDAF) and uses a Samsung HM6 sensor with 0.64µm pixels. There's also a 2MP F2.4 depth lens. On the front, it houses the lone 16MP F2.5 in-display selfie camera.
On top of this, the realme 10 Pro 5G comes with Nonapixel Plus Technology that allows pixel binning or the combining of 9 pixels into one for much improved low-light photography in darker situations. While the HyperShot Imaging Architecture offers a mix of impressive camera specs such as QuickShot Acceleration Engine for faster photo taking at night, and Parallel Processing for continued rapid captures of shots even as the previous image is being processed, realme 10 Pro 5G also comes with Street Photography 3.0 Mode which provides a variety of features catered to different mobile photography needs. Here are some photo samples using the realme 10 Pro 5G Street Photography 3.0 Mode:
