Keeping up with the trends with ADCON 2023


Advertising Conference, or ADCON, is an annual marketing event organized by the University of the Philippines Visayas senior marketing students in cooperation with the UPV College of Management (UPV CM) and the UPV Marketing Society Inc. (UPV MSI). Since 2017, ADCON has been keen on sharing invaluable information, inspiring, novel and groundbreaking marketing strategies, as well as educating the youth and marketing professionals through plenary talks and activities by credible figures in the marketing and advertising industry.

AdCon 2023

This year, ADCON focuses on the theme “Playing your Cards Right: Go Big or Go Home with Emerging Marketing Strategies.” Each day of the three-day conference will discuss the different novel and emerging marketing strategies that rose after the pandemic.

Moreover, ADCON will hold THREE conferences ON-SITE for THREE Saturdays this year!

To start AdCon 2023, the 1st day, “Your Next Move: Unfolding the Next Consumer Rush", will be delving deep into the marketing situation after the pandemic. Discover more about revenge spending, the rationale behind the use of short-form videos in marketing, and the viral Deserve Ko To behavior of Filipino consumers. Test your luck by learning from experts on how to successfully ride this risky yet rewarding consumer rush.

ADCON Day 1 on April 29

AdCon Day 2, "The Great Multiplier: The Winning Combinations of Gen Z Marketing," will revolve around how to approach the emerging market of Generation Z. With speakers who have expertise in brand activism, bad publicity management, and diversity and empowerment, participants will have the opportunity from the best of the best on May 6, 2023.

Concluding the 3-day conference will be ADCON Day 3 on May 13 with the theme “Unveiling the Wild Card: Marketing in the Gaming Industry”. To introduce opportunities that the Filipino Esports and Gaming Industry with its highly engaged audience have in store for the local marketing landscape, Day 3 teamed up with gaming companies Moonton and AcadArena to tackle the marketing behind the growth of the Esports in the Philippines, unbox the potential of the gaming community as an emerging venue for brand advertising, and explore the rise of gaming influencers.

Furthermore, to make this event even more meaningful, the organizers will be sharing 15-20% of the event’s profit to three beneficiaries:

  1. St. Joseph Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center for the Handicapped
  2. Pamatan-on nga Mangunguma sang Negros Alliance (PAMANA)
  3. Women United through Handcrafted Lace and Embroidery

ADCON 2023 is open to all high school students (JHS and SHS), college students, professionals, and business owners for a registration fee of Php500 per day.
