realme C53 Unboxing and First Impression
realme Philippines is set to unveil its newest Champion in the budget segment - the all-new realme C53. The realme C53 brings back the champion-level aesthetics and features for the second time around, following the success of the realme C55.
The realme C53 boasts a 6.74-inch HD+ IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 50MP dual-camera setup. It is backed by a Unisoc Tiger T612 processor and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC charging. Just like the realme C55, the realme C53 also features a Mini Capsule with all its three functions.
I was able to get my hands on one. Hence, I am very excited to share with you my unboxing experience as well as my initial impression of the device. So, let's start with the unboxing.
Unboxing the realme C53
As expected, the packaging comes in realme's signature yellow-colored box. The front portion indicates the realme C53 branding. In contrast, the brand details—model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and the six key features of the realme C53, are imprinted on the back portion of the box.
Inside the Box and Accessories
After sliding the cover, you can find the pack which contains: a SIM card ejector tool, a protective silicone case, and an important information guide (including the Warranty Card).
Revealed underneath is the realme C53 smartphone wrapped in white matte plastic. Beneath is the USB-C to USB-A charging cable and 33W SUPERVOOC charging adapter. The realme C53 does not come with a headset – you have to provide your own.
Design and Walk Around
For the design, realme made sure that its new Champion device will turn heads by implementing what’s called the “Gold Filament Gradient Coating Process”. According to realme, it is a segment-first manufacturing process that envelops the realme C53’s exterior with six layers of optical gradient coating and shows a shiny golden texture effect when held under certain angles and lighting conditions.
The realme C53 will be available in the Philippines in just two color variants: Mighty Black and Champion Gold.
On the front, the realme C53 is equipped with a large 6.74-inch HD+ (1600 x 720) IPS display. At the top, there’s a dewdrop notch that houses the front-facing camera and the earpiece. Like most smartphones in this segment, the side bezels are relatively slim but with a pretty thick chin. Also, there is no pre-installed screen protector.
Found at the back are three circular camera modules that house a dual-camera set-up along with a single LED flash. The two cameras are the 50MP main and the 0.8MP depth.
Found on the left side is the card tray with a 3-card slot for two nano-SIM cards and a dedicated slot for a microSD card capable of up to 2TB of expandable storage, a must for users who want to improve further the storage capacity.
On the right, are your standard volume rocker button and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the power button.
Located at the bottom of the phone, you can find the USB Type-C charging port, downward-firing speaker, microphone, and 3.5mm audio jack.
In addition to its design, the realme C53 is very slim at 7.49mm thick and weighs about 182g. The phone also comes with a squared-off box-type build, paired with rounded edges at the corners that add comfort and allow ease of use with one hand.
Internals
The realme C53 boasts a Unisoc Tiger T612 octa-core processor and Mali-G57 GPU. The realme C53 will be available in one RAM and storage variant: 6GB+128GB. The RAM can also be expanded by using internal storage and making it act as RAM (Virtual RAM).
For the OS, the realme C53 runs on realme UI T Edition, which is based on Android 13. To complement the overall specs of the smartphone, the realme C53 also has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC charging capabilities.
The realme C53 also comes with Mini Capsule which is designed to show detailed information for selected items such as charging & battery status, mobile data usage, and step tracking/step counting.
Cameras
As for the camera, the realme C53 boasts a dual-camera set-up—consisting of a 50MP primary camera with Phase Detection autofocus (PDAF) and a 0.8MP depth sensor. The front camera houses the lone 8MP selfie camera.
