Digido, UnaCash empower employees’ financial well-being in year-ender effort
Emphasizing the empowerment of Filipinos in making knowledgeable financial decisions, Digido Finance Corp. (DFC), the company behind multi-awarded consumer finance platform Digido and the in-app and in-store financial solutions provider UnaCash, organized a half-day webinar series that tackled methods for addressing financial stress and revisiting fundamental practices to establish sound financial habits.
With the theme “From Paycheck to Portfolio: Empowering Employees Through Financial Literacy”, team members of both products, alongside its management committee, took part in an intimate seminar discussion by MindNation, its mental health and well-being partner since 2021, where registered financial consultant Francis Cañizares discussed ways to manage financial stress and anxiety. The talk highlighted the practical steps on how to address this, and ways to develop savings plans and increase cash flow.
Kimberly Erica Go, also a registered financial consultant, also conducted a session called “Back to the Driver’s Seat”, tackling the basics to understanding personal finance and creating positive financial habits. This highlighted methods including the benefits of building your credit record through viable financial options like short-term loans and buy now, pay later services, to which a workbook in managing personal finances was given out to its participants. This also included a distribution of promotional materials on financial literacy across all employees.
The activity is part of DFC’s series of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and aids to continuously support the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (NSFI) in the Philippines.
“Enhancing financial education and safeguarding consumer interests are essential from our point of view. Effective, extensive, and enduring digital financial literacy initiatives are pivotal measures that can be implemented by diverse parties using a unified framework. This latest initiative for our outstanding employees aims to reflect these values, as we continue to aid in the progression of financial inclusion for more Filipinos, one community at a time,” Digido Finance Corp. head of human resources and administration Diane Tinoko said.
