IT'S TIME TO #RECHARGEYOURSELFILOILO — But Wait, Where Do I Charge?
Iloilo City has recently witnessed a seismic shift in its automotive industry. With Grand Canyon Multi Holdings, Inc. introducing the very first Electric Vehicles to Ilonggo consumers on November 15, namely with the MG4 EV and Marvel R, it is only a matter of time until the city eventually lives up to true progression and experience an electric revolution. Of course, one crucial aspect of owning an electric vehicle is access to reliable charging infrastructure. Hence, what are the options available?
- Home Charging - EV owners will be glad to know that Grand Canyon and MG Motor Iloilo will be providing home chargers for every purchase of the MG4 and Marvel R electric vehicles. The 3.6KW Portable Charger allows users to recharge the EV's battery over a duration of 19 hours, while the 7KW Wall Charger lessens the charging time significantly down to 9 hours.
- Public Charging - It is worth noting that, with the eventual integration of electric vehicles in Iloilo, public charging stations will be made available, firstly at Grand Canyon's headquarters in Taft North, Mandurriao. Of course, expansion is inevitable as additional charging stations will be established in MotorcycleCity's Mabini and Molo branches over the course of 12 months. By 24 months, MG Roxas as well as MotorcycleCity Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Kalibo and Mambusao will allow long-range travellers the opportunity to charge their EVs on the go. The 11KW Wall Charger allows for 7 hours charging time, the 22KW Wall Charger with 4 hours and a 120KW Pedestal DC Charger shortening it down to just 45 minutes. It should be noted that with the latter, an establishment's charging rates will apply.
Whether it's charging at home, utilizing public charging stations, or taking advantage of fast-charging capabilities, Grand Canyon and MG Iloilo are committed to ensuring that their electric vehicle owners can navigate the electric highway with confidence and convenience.
