GGG Live Announcements: Path of Exile 2’s Ranger Class, Beta Delayed and Path of Exile: Necropolis
During today’s Path of Exile livestream “GGG Live”, developer Grinding Gear Games had a series of announcements regarding both Path of Exile and the upcoming Path of Exile 2.
- Newly Revealed Ranger Class - The Ranger is Path of Exile 2's most agile class. With the new ability to move while shooting as well as a variety of quick movement skills, she can bound around the battlefield while keeping her foes at a distance with a barrage of bow attacks.
- Path of Exile 2 Beta Delay – Path of Exile 2’s beta has been delayed until later in the year. “While we can get the game's content ready in time, we underestimated how long it takes to get gameplay polished to a standard that we are happy with. We will still be doing an Alpha in June, but we are going to be delaying the Beta until later in the year” said Jonathan Rogers, Game Director of Path of Exile 2.
- Path of Exile: Necropolis - The new Path of Exile expansion, will launch on March 29th (PDT) for PC, Mac and Consoles. The Necropolis expansion introduces the Necropolis challenge league, a plethora of changes to the endgame, new tier 17 Maps and Bosses, new Transfigured Skill Gems, and much more!
Path of Exile 2 Key Features:
- A Next Generation Action RPG - Path of Exile 2 is a next-generation Action RPG created by Grinding Gear Games. Set years after the original Path of Exile, you will return to the dark world of Wraeclast and seek to end the corruption that is spreading.
- Brand New Content - Path of Exile 2 features a brand new campaign with six acts, 100 distinct environments, 600 monsters and 100 bosses.
- Familiar and New Classes - Twelve Character Classes - Path of Exile 2 features twelve character classes, two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. You can combine skills from many classes together to create your ideal character build. Each of the twelve character classes has its own three Ascendancy specializations, resulting in a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes to pick between.
- New Skill Gem System - Path of Exile 2 features 240 Skill Gems that grant devastating active skills and 200 Support Gems that modify their behavior.
- Endgame - At the conclusion of Path of Exile 2's six-act campaign, you'll gain access to its endgame. Each of the more than 100 endgame maps has its own boss fight and modifiers that enable revamped versions of many of Path of Exile's past leagues.
Path of Exile: Necropolis Key Features
- The Necropolis Challenge League: In the Necropolis League, the wrathful spirits have begun to haunt the monsters of Wraeclast, unleashing their ancient fury and sorrow onto the world. The Undertaker provides you with the Lantern of Arimor, a powerful family heirloom that illuminates the spirits haunting monsters throughout Wraeclast. With it, the Undertaker hopes to employ you to rid Wraeclast of this menace - and further his cryptic cause.
- Face a new Tier of Endgame Difficulty - Path of Exile: Necropolis introduces a new tier of Endgame Difficulty which tests your characters in new ways - Tier 17 Maps. They feature a new set of bosses, more powerful monsters, and new rewards. Access the absolute pinnacle of Path of Exile's most difficult bosses by completing these Maps and proving your worth.
- Reworked Endgame Content Systems - Scarabs which can be used to enhance your Endgame Maps have been overhauled. A myriad of new options have been added, giving ways to push the challenges and rewards of Endgame Maps to new heights.
