vivo V30 Pro Unboxing and First Impression
Launched alongside the vivo V30, vivo also brings back the Pro version of the V30 Series to the Philippines after a three-year hiatus, this time in collaboration with the optics leader, ZEISS.
The vivo V30 Pro takes the camera department to a more professional level than the vivo V30 with its triple Zeiss camera on the rear, each boasting flagship quality that is comparable to premium devices with a higher price tag. In addition to the features found on the vivo V30, such as a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, 5,000mAh battery, and Aura Light 3.0, the vivo V30 Pro comes with a Mediatek Dimensity 8200 chipset and faster UFS 3.1 storage.
I recently got my hands on one and am excited to share my unboxing experience and initial impressions of the vivo V30 Pro. So, let's get started with the unboxing!
Unboxing the vivo V30 Pro
The vivo V30 Pro is packaged in a high-end box that prominently displays the V30 Pro logo and its partnership with ZEISS on the front. The back of the box features various details about the device, including its model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and more.
Inside the Box and Accessories
Upon opening the box, you will find the following items inside: the vivo V30 Pro smartphone, a SIM card ejector tool, a quick start guide, important information (including the warranty card), an 80W FlashCharge power adapter, a USB type-C to USB-A charging cable, and a silicone case. Please note that the vivo V30 Pro does not come with headphones, so you will need to provide your own.
Now, let's take a closer look at the device's physical appearance and my initial impression of it.
Design and Walk Around
The vivo V30 Pro boasts the same “View Catcher Design” as the V30, which is an eye-catcher. Unlike the V30, the vivo V30 Pro is available in only one color variant, Petals White. This color option features a "3D Petal Pattern" that resembles blooming flowers and unfurling petals. Additionally, this design is less susceptible to fingerprint smudges and scratches.
The vivo V30 Pro is a dual-glass curved phone with a plastic frame, weighing a bit heavier than the V30 at 188g. For the thickness, the vivo V30 Pro comes at 7.45mm same as the V30.
The phone's front side boasts a large 6.78-inch 1.5K (1260 x 2800) AMOLED display that is safeguarded by a curved "Schott α" glass along with a pre-installed screen protector. The screen's top portion has a centered hole-punch camera, while the earpiece is subtly etched above the display. Additionally, the fingerprint reader is positioned below the screen.
On the back of the phone, there is a rectangular-shaped camera module that houses a triple-camera set-up, the ZEISS logo, and an LED flash. The module is surrounded by a square-shaped Aura Light that glows and can change colors from white to yellow, orange, or red.
The phone's volume rocker button and power button are located on the right side, while the top of the phone is clean with only the secondary noise-canceling microphone present.
At the bottom of the vivo V30 Pro, you'll find a USB Type-C charging port, downward-firing speaker, microphone, and dual SIM card tray. Sadly, the phone does not come with a 3.5mm audio jack and only has one speaker.
Internals
The vivo V30 Pro is an upgraded version of the vivo V30. It's equipped with a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8200 processor, Mali-G610 MC6 graphics, 12GB of RAM plus another 12GB of extended RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. Like the vivo V30, the V30 Pro also has a 5,000mAh battery, which is the largest battery capacity in the V Series so far and supports 80W fast charging.
The phone runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It also features Game Boost mode and a Liquid Cooling System that helps prevent overheating and provides users with a smooth and lag-free gaming experience. The phone is IP54 water-resistant and dust-resistant, and it comes with a comprehensive cushioning structure that significantly enhances the safety of both external and internal components.
Cameras
The vivo V30 Pro has a triple-camera set-up, consisting of a 50MP F1.9 primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection autofocus (PDAF), and vivo's exclusive Camera-Bionic Spectrum (VCS) technology. Additionally, there's a 50MP F1.9 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and PDAF, and a 50MP F2.0 wide-angle camera with autofocus. The front camera also has a 50MP F2.0 wide-angle camera with autofocus.
The vivo V30 Pro also features an upgraded Aura Light Portrait 3.0 feature with innovative technology that ensures every shot is a masterpiece, even in challenging low-light settings.
