vivo V30e Unboxing and First Impression
Last May, vivo announced the highly anticipated arrival of the vivo V30e, the final addition to its acclaimed mid-range V30 Series, which includes the vivo V30 and vivo V30 Pro.
Priced more affordably than its V30 siblings, the vivo V30e is designed to deliver the best mobile photography experience without compromising on style and performance.
I was fortunate to get hold of one, and I'm excited to share my unboxing experience and initial impressions of the vivo V30e with you. So, without further ado, let's start with the unboxing.
Unboxing the vivo V30e
The vivo V30e comes in the same high-end box as its V30 siblings. The box prominently displays the V30e logo on the front, while the back features various details about the device, including its model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, and more.
Inside the Box and Accessories
Upon opening the box, you will find the following items inside: the vivo V30e smartphone, a SIM card ejector tool, a quick start guide, important information (including the warranty card), a 44W FlashCharge power adapter, a USB type-C to USB-A charging cable, and a silicone case. Please note that the vivo V30e does not come with headphones, so you will need to provide your own.
Let's now take a closer look at the device's physical appearance and my initial impression of it.
Design and Walk Around
Many fans have long regarded Vivo as a brand that offers both top-notch innovations and visually pleasing designs. The vivo V30e comes with a design that sets it apart from its V30 siblings. The Coco Brown variant in my unit comes with a matte finish with a small glossy side panel. This design is also less prone to fingerprint smudges and scratches. Additionally, there is another color option: Cloud White.
The vivo V30e weighs 188g and has a thickness of 7.75 mm. It features a sleek 3D curved display, making it both stylish and comfortable to hold.
The phone's front side includes a large 6.78-inch FHD+ (1980 x 2400) AMOLED display, protected by curved "Schott Xensation" glass and a pre-installed screen protector. The centered hole-punch camera is located at the top of the screen, with the earpiece discreetly positioned above the display. The in-display fingerprint reader is placed below the screen.
On the back, there is a prominent circular-shaped camera module that houses a dual-camera setup and a ring-LED flash called Aura Light 3.0. The Aura Light replaces the traditional camera flash and provides soft, even lighting, unlike the harsh flashes found on most phones.
The phone's volume rocker button and power button are situated on the right side, and the top of the phone is uncluttered, with only the secondary noise-canceling microphone present.
At the bottom of the vivo V30e, you'll find a USB Type-C charging port, downward-firing speaker, microphone, and hybrid SIM tray. The hybrid SIM tray can accommodate either a second SIM card or a microSD card for additional storage. Unfortunately, the phone does not include a 3.5mm audio jack and features only one speaker.
Internals
The vivo V30e is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 mobile platform, Adreno 710 graphics, 5G connectivity, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. It also features a large 5,500mAh battery, the largest in the Ve Series, and supports 44W fast charging.
Additionally, it comes with up to 8GB of extended RAM. The phone runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, and it is IP64 water-resistant and dust-resistant.
Cameras
The vivo V30e comes with a remarkable camera system that establishes new standards for mid-range smartphones within its price range. It features a 50MP F1.8 main camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, known for its precise color reproduction, ensuring vibrant and true-to-life photos without any color cast.
In addition, it is equipped with an 8MP F2.2 ultrawide camera that supports a 120-degree field of view and a 32MP F2.0 wide-angle front camera.
