nubia Music Unboxing and First Impression
Filipinos adore listening to and sharing music with our families, friends, and community, whether inside our homes or jamming on the streets for everyone to enjoy. With that in mind, nubia Philippines has introduced its latest smartphone, the nubia Music, to offer a fresh music experience for Filipino music lovers.
The nubia Music smartphone provides an immersive music experience. It features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 50MP dual camera, a 5,000mAh battery, speaker with up 600% volume, DTS:X Ultra audio, dual musical light effects with melody, dual 3.5mm earphone jacks, and a Classic Vinyl Record Player design.
I was fortunate to get my hands on one, and I'm excited to share my unboxing experience and initial impressions of the nubia Music with you. So, without further ado, let's start with the unboxing.
Unboxing the nubia Music
The nubia Music comes in a black-colored box with a music theme. The front part of the box showcases the phone branding, while the top portion contains essential details such as the model number, IMEI number, serial number, color, RAM, and storage capacity of the device.
Inside the Box and Accessories
Upon opening the lid, you will find a white pack containing a SIM card ejector tool, a protective case, two sets of screen protectors, a quick start guide, and a warranty card.
Inside the package, you will find the nubia Music smartphone along with a USB-C to USB-A charging cable and a 5W charging adapter. Please note that while the nubia Music is a music-oriented smartphone, it does not come with a headset, so you will need to use your own.
Design and Walk Around
The nubia Music has a classic vinyl record player design. The design is elegant and artistic, featuring classic geometric shapes and a holographic texture process on the camera module. The phone comes in two colors: Pop Art and Zeel Orange, and I have the Zeel Orange version.
The phone's front features a large 6.6-inch HD+ (720 x 1612) IPS display with a centered hole-punch 5MP camera at the top and a discreetly carved earpiece above the display. The phone does not come with a pre-installed screen protector, but two screen protectors are included in the box for you to apply yourself.
On the back of the phone, there is a dual camera module. One houses the 50MP main camera, while the other houses the 2MP depth lens and a single LED flash. There is also a large speaker design resembling a vinyl record.
The right side of the phone features the standard volume rocker button and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
On the left side, there is a card tray with a 2-card slot for one nano-SIM card and either another nano-SIM or a microSD card for expandable storage.
At the top of the phone, there are dual 3.5mm earphone jacks, allowing you to share and enjoy music with family members or friends.
The bottom of the phone features the USB Type-C charging port and microphone.
Internal
The nubia Music is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A processor, PowerVR GE8322 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It is also equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery.
In addition, the nubia Music supports dynamic RAM technology, allowing you to virtually expand your phone's RAM using the internal storage. You can allocate up to 4GB of your storage to act as RAM.
On the software side, the phone operates on MyOS 13, which is based on Android 13. It also features Live Island, an integration of several useful functions that provide a new interactive experience. These functions include battery status, countdown timer, voice recording, earbuds connection, phone call, flashlight, and music.
Better Melody
Some of the features of the device include a high-quality Ultra Speaker with 600% larger volume, an AI super volume algorithm, and support for DTS:X Ultra for enhanced sound quality. It also comes with a built-in FM antenna, allowing you to listen to the radio without wired headphones.
The device is equipped with Dual Musical Light Effects with Melody to enhance the music listening experience. The RGB light effects on the speakers provide a breathing light effect that changes in real time with the rhythm of the music. Additionally, there's a Screen light effect, which is a surrounding light effect on the screen that also changes in real time with the rhythm of the music.
Cameras
The nubia Music features a 50MP main camera with an aperture of F1.8, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP F2.4 front camera. The main camera is equipped with 12 shooting scenes recognition and face recognition V3.0 that locks the face focus when taking photos and videos.
Some sample photos taken by the nubia Music are included below. A full review of the nubia Music's camera setup will be available later this week.
