realme C75 In-Depth Review

realme Philippines has officially launched the highly anticipated realme C75 through an online livestream on its Facebook and YouTube pages. This device is the newest addition to the popular realme C-Series and is designed to withstand extreme conditions, ensuring a "Waterproof, Worry-proof" experience for users.

realme C75 In-Depth Review

The realme C75 offers outstanding durability for a device priced under Php 10,000, featuring three industry-standard Ingress Protection (IP) ratings: IP69, IP68, and IP66. These ratings are recognized globally as benchmarks for measuring a device's resistance to dust, water, and other environmental elements.

In addition, the phone boasts a large 6,000mAh battery with a lifespan of four years, 8GB of RAM (with Dynamic RAM Expansion), and up to 256GB of internal storage. It also includes ArmorShell Protection, a new ArmorShell Glass, a 6.72-inch 90Hz FHD+ display, a MediaTek Helio G92 Max chipset, and a 45W fast charger.

I have already unboxed the device and shared my initial impressions. In this review, I will explore the smartphone's features in greater detail to help you determine if it is the right choice for you.

Design and Walk Around

As we discussed during the unboxing and first impressions of the device, the realme C75 boasts a sleek design known as "Nature Power Design." Its back cover features a cross-arc texture that highlights the dynamic interplay of light and shadows. The C75 is available in two colors: Lightning Gold and Storm Black; I had the Storm Black variant.

realme C75 Design

Despite its rugged features and large battery, the realme C75 maintains a slim profile, measuring just 7.99 mm in thickness and weighing 196 grams.

realme C75 Display

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.72-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) IPS display that offers a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display includes a centered hole-punch for the 8MP front camera at the top, along with a thin, discreetly etched earpiece positioned above it. Additionally, the phone comes with a pre-installed screen protector.

realme C75 Camera Module

On the back, there is a rectangular camera module housing a dual-camera system that comprises a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor, complemented by a single LED flash. Initially, I mistook what appeared to be a third camera for an additional sensor, but upon closer inspection, I realized it was purely a design element.

realme C75 SIM Card Tray

The left side of the phone features a card tray with a 3-card slot that accommodates two nano-SIM cards and a dedicated slot for a microSD card of up to 2TB for expandable storage. On the right side, you will find the standard volume rocker and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.

At the bottom of the device, there is a USB Type-C charging port, a downward-firing speaker, and a microphone. Please note that the realme C75 does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Display and Multimedia

The realme C75 features a large 6.72-inch IPS display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a brightness level of 580 nits, which can increase to 690 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM).

realme C75 Display

The display also includes an Always-On Display (AOD) that shows the time, notifications, and customizable patterns even when the screen is off. Additionally, it has an Eye Comfort Mode that adjusts the brightness to as low as 3 nits, ensuring comfort for your eyes in low-light environments.

The IPS screen delivers vibrant colors and decent viewing angles. However, using the device in direct sunlight can be challenging, even at maximum brightness.

realme C75 Multimedia

Regarding audio quality, the UltraBoom speaker delivers typical sound performance for smartphones in this price range—it can get loud, but the overall audio quality is average. For better sound quality, it is advisable to use headphones or an external speaker.

Camera

Rear Cameras

The realme C75 features a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP F1.8 main camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and a 2MP F2.4 secondary lens for depth sensing.

realme C75 Rear Cameras

The main camera is equipped with a Flicker Sensor that detects environmental flickers, helping to reduce screen flicker. It also includes various features embedded in realme UI, such as Portrait Mode, Street Mode, Night Mode, Tilt-Shift, Dedicated Filters, and customizable Watermarks.

realme C75 Camera UI

In bright lighting, the rear camera captures good-quality photos, although there is room for improvement in dynamic range and sharpness.

In indoor and low-light conditions, images can appear less clear, even with the Night Mode enabled. Nonetheless, the camera is adequete for casual social media use.

Front Selfie Camera

The realme C75 has an 8MP front camera with an F2.0 aperture and an 80° field of view. It includes common selfie features like Face Beautification and Photo Filters. The front camera performs well in well-lit conditions, but background blurring for portrait selfies is not perfect, though it is acceptable.

Video Recording

Regarding video recording, the realme C75 supports 1080p at 30fps for both the main and front cameras. However, video recorded from the main camera may appear shaky due to the lack of image stabilization.

realme UI 5.0, Apps, and Security

The realme C75 smartphone features an updated version of realme UI, which is based on Android 15. This new interface offers a more modern design and introduces AI capabilities such as AI Smart Loop, AI Clear Face, and Smart Image Matting. The realme UI 5.0 is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and comes with Google’s standard app suite, along with a few extra, unnecessary applications.

Additionally, the smartphone includes an enhanced version of realme’s Mini Capsule. This new Mini Capsule 3.0 features the first real-time Grab status bar notification available in its price range, allowing users to see the progress of their Grab ride orders and estimated wait times. Mini Capsule 3.0 has a fresh design that presents information in a clear and organized manner.

realme UI 5.0

For security, the realme C75 is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button. This feature allows users to custom map the power button for specific functions, enabling activation by simply double-tapping or double-pressing the button.

Hardware and Performance

The realme C75 is the first smartphone to feature MediaTek’s Helio G92 Max chipset, which is manufactured using a 12nm process. It includes two Cortex-A75 cores that can reach speeds of up to 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores that can reach up to 1.8GHz. The device also comes equipped with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

realme C75 Gaming

Additionally, the realme C75 supports Dynamic RAM Expansion technology, allowing users to virtually expand the phone's RAM by using internal storage. You can allocate either 6GB, 8GB, or 16GB of storage to function as RAM.

In terms of performance, the device handles everyday tasks smoothly. However, the gaming experience in graphics-intensive games is just average, with some minor lags in certain titles. It's important to remember that this is not a dedicated gaming smartphone, so expectations should be tempered.

realme C75 About Phone, Storage and RAM

The realme C75 is available in the Philippines with two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. My unit has 256GB of storage, and it used 28.0GB right out of the box. If you need more storage, you can expand it up to 2TB via its dedicated microSD card slot.

Below are the benchmark scores for this device:

  • AnTuTu v10.4.3 – 280,632
  • AnTuTu Storage Test v10.4.3 – 146,959 (297.3 MB/s Seq. Read, 269.7 MB/s Seq. Write)

Waterproof. Worry-proof.

The realme C75 boasts an impressive IP69 dust and water resistance rating, which is the highest level of protection available. This means that the device is completely dustproof and can withstand exposure to high-pressure water and high-temperature environments. During testing, the realme C75 has successfully endured hot steam and even near-boiling water, demonstrating its capability to handle extreme conditions.

realme C75 Waterproof. Worry-proof. Features

Additionally, with an IP68 dustproof and waterproof rating, the realme C75 can be submerged in water at a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. This feature alleviates concerns about damage if the device accidentally falls into a pool or bathtub. The IP68 rating also allows users to capture photos and videos underwater.

Furthermore, the IP66 rating ensures that the device can resist powerful water pressure, such as that from water guns or jets, from any direction.

realme C75 SonicWave Water Ejection

realme has also introduced SonicWave Water Ejection technology in the realme C75, marking an industry-first innovation at this price point. This built-in feature utilizes active sonic vibrations to effectively eject up to 50% of the accumulated water from the speaker grills, enhancing the device's durability.

Battery and Connectivity

The realme C75 comes equipped with a large 6,000mAh battery that delivers up to 12 hours of video playback and 5 hours of mobile gaming without recharging all the time. In my casual to moderate usage, the battery lasts a whole day without requiring an additional charge. In the PCMark Work 3.0 Battery Life Test, the device scored around 14 hours and 32 minutes.

Furthermore, the realme C75 is bundled with a 45W SUPERVOOC charger that can charge the 6,000mAh battery from 0% to 100% in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Since the device is designed for long-term reliability, the battery retains 80% health even after years of use.
